I think it does but not in a lot of cases. What do you think?

No, but I understand what you're saying with this.

Example: I have a distinct lack of African American friends. Am I racist? No, I simply tend to not get along with them well enough to be friends.

Also I'm guessing you may feel that stereotyping based on one's &quotersonality" (i.e. thug, preppy, indie, etc.) if effective? Just curious because I can also see the truth in this.

Racism is a state of dislike or hatred towards those of a different race, nationality, or ethnicity. To me, it's unacceptable in every way, shape, or form. What Kirby used is a racial derogatory term to name a black person. It is just another name that stems from racism.

The only truth that racism implies is that people that practice it have no values in diversity. Using these derogatory terms in an intended view is racist.

Some stereotypes are generalized, as in they don't necessarily reflect the personalities, mannerisms, and actions of the group that reflects the term.

People also have a different viewpoint on what the stereotype implies. I'm a geek. What picture do you have for me?

I agree it is wrong to hate someone because of their skin color. but if you dislike a black person because they act like a stereotypical black person are you racist?

I honestly am not around a ton of people of a different race so I have no idea what they are like so I can't make judgements.

You can dislike someone because of their character, but not their origins. It's not only against the law but against ethics and morals to not be racist, but we still have the free will to dislike how they are darn it!

Well I say lets switch this post from opinions to facts. Is there any evidence that many stereotypes regarding people of different races could be true?

YUR FUNEE! But really, what do you picture as a geek?

Is there any evidence that many stereotypes regarding people of different races could be true?

No, I really don't think so. It's all in the minds of the people. Again, stereotypes generalize the personalities of the group that reflects it. People take it one step further and claim it correct.

Myself. A general intelligent person why isn't overly socially awkward. Average or better looking with a general air of sarcasm about them.

Black people perpetuate stereotypes because of their economic class which tends to have a social structure based upon honor when honor is unknown and where the strongest and richest is the ruler.
