I think that there should be longer comment pages on the game's comment area that way you dont have to go to the comment page when you want to see other peoples comments. (like maps on FreeRider)
It might be nice if merited comments got their own section, so theyre easily noticed. I suppose that putting them in bold helps, but if someone is using the comments to get the gist of how good the game is, it might be nice to be able to scan the good replies quickly instead of having to fish through a million "ok" "good" "hi" replies.
I will echo the idea that merited posts should have their own comments sections.
Also, weren't the mods going to go through the comments and delete all the "Ok" "good" "I don't have anything to say but want AP" comments? I realize this is a huge task given the number of games out there, but it would be a definite improvement to the comments sections.
Moderators are going through slowly, but it does take a lot of time because there are a loooooot of comments. Make sure to flag those types of comments, so that we can delete them directly that way as well.
Well also what I was thinking for games that have a code that you can load or somthing there could be a separate space for that on the page. so like have a comment section and a map section. or somehitng like that.
I like DragonMistress's idea, it would be nice to have a 'Merited Comments' list next to the normal 'Game Comments' one, probably under the Author's Note that way after you finish reading the Controls you can merely look down below to see what to look out for or what to think about when playing this game. As for a longer comment page, I think no matter how long it is, it will still be hard to go through all those comments, and luckily merit-worthy ones tend to stand out a little more than the bad ones since they are obviously longer, so it's not like looking for a needle in a haystack. But I think everyone should still 'Vote-Up' merit-worthy comments., and relay them to the Merit_Recognization wall, and Flag any pointless comments that way with time it would be a lot easier to find all the good, thought-out comments left by people.
yeah i like DragonMistress's idea to cause the people who wright worthy comments they should be noticed And the people who wright Hi Good great there comments should be deleted. And the pages should be longer so we don't have to sort through pages to find stuff like in the Great Debate. And commenting on the games should be at least 2 sentences long just so people can stop looking at This game was good over and over again.
For games like Free Rider that use long codes they should make a section for that too, perhaps a 2nd layer to the Game Comments, there could be a button to hit and it would switch to all the posts of the codes for the maps, and also allow you to post in that one too, any of those codes caught in the normal comments should be deleted or moved to the 2nd layer. It would make more sense, and be easier to sort through spammy comments because there aren't any codes in there. The less than two sentences would be a good idea because I know that my recent ones have nearly taken up the whole dang comment page, so it's not 'impossible' to make long comments that aren't spam and gibberish. That could also lead to the longer comment page cause my recent posts bumped like 5-6 off and now no one will see them and people aren't going to look in the comment pages cause they're so cluttered and not navigation-friendly. Oh yeah, on the Free Rider thing, i think the codes, if separated, shouldn't give points cause I see people posting a bunch of mini-courses, that's like getting free points for no reason, all they have to do is make some small course and put it up, then change it a little, put it up, they could easily randomly bring in a good income of points by posting them over and over again, so there's no real point, they're not suggestions, reviews, or helpful in any way, just maps people took the time(usually) to make.
