The Northern Kings is a band with 4 lead singers... each has one or more bands that they are the figure heads for. They got together with a new band to make cover songs on the side for fun. The genre of songs that they remake are very well known 80s and 90s pop rock hits. Some of these songs take some serious marbles to even consider covering. I personally think most of their songs are better than the orginals.
I'm especially a fan of the Northern Kings Tony Kakko, from Sonata Arctica, and Marco Hietala, from Nightwish and Tarot. (SA and NW are 2 of my all time favorite bands) :-P
I know that alot of the AG population isn't just little kids so I'm sure alot of you have heard the original songs. I'd like to ask that for those of you interested... would you youtube "Northern Kings" and check out a few of their songs and give me some feedback on what you think of them. The music vids are a little weird and you shall have several lulz if you actually watch them b/c they're just so random. But the music is great. There are only a few that i'm "Meh" about... the rest are an emmaculate ear sensation.
All four Northern Kings are from Finland btw... be happy... the finnish gods of metal have smiled upon you this day...
***another thing.... Sonata Arctica did a cover of Iron Maiden's "Die with your boots on"... Maiden was bested this day.... yes... i went there
