Before you die, you get a vision of Chuck Norris kicking your @ss. Then you die. And you become a ghost. A Poe, to be exact (one of those ghosts from TLoZ).... Wait, wut?
Einstein has said many things that contradict eachother, but in this video he says that he was not an atheist.
Let's look at some actual quotes from letters which Einstein himself wrote, instead of bananaman videos mmmkay?
I received your letter of June 10th. I have never talked to a Jesuit priest in my life and I am astonished by the audacity to tell such lies about me. From the viewpoint of a Jesuit priest I am, of course, and have always been an atheist.
- Albert Einstein, letter to Guy H. Raner Jr, July 2, 1945, responding to a rumor that a Jesuit priest had caused Einstein to convert from atheism
Through the reading of popular scientific books I soon reached the conviction that much in the stories of the Bible could not be true. The consequence was a positively fanatic orgy of freethinking coupled with the impression that youth is intentionally being deceived by the state through lies; it was a crushing impression. Mistrust of every kind of authority grew out of this experience, a skeptical attitude toward the convictions that were alive in any specific social environment - an attitude that has never again left me, even though, later on, it has been tempered by a better insight into the causal connections.
- Albert Einstein, Autobiographical Notes, edited by Paul Arthur Schilpp
I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being.
- Albert Einstein, letter to Guy H. Raner Jr., Sept. 28, 1949
Unfortunately... And then people wonder why scientists, atheists, and the anti-religious have become so outspoken. We have to compete with asshats like bananaman teaching our children nonsensical bullshit. As a parent it truly scares me that there are children who have been not only exposed to this guy, but who actually cite him as a source of credible information. Oh, and let's not forget the famous 'crocoduck'. Do these guys realize that evolution says we would never see such a creature, yet they keep citing the absence of a 'crocoduck' as proof that evolution doesn't happen?
I believe that most people spend alot of time in purgatory not being literally tortured, rather are forced to watch how they have hurt other people until they understand what they did was wrong and beg for repentance. Also, many people probably go to Hell. Even if you don't do anything evil, you may be damned for not sharing the gifts God has given you. If you have been blessed with many gifts and have never shared them with others, an anecdote from the Bible, you may go to hell. Did you do anything wrong? No, but you didn't do anything right either. It is said that everything you have is a gift from God, and should not be considered "yours". And only the pure of spirit go directly to heaven
So... God is a communist? Why are you guys so pissed off at them again?
Isn't it obvious? Communist is an atheist plot led by Pres Oboma to undermine American values and take over the world, eating your children, and taking all the nice things teh nize Christians have.
I believe that most people spend alot of time in purgatory not being literally tortured, rather are forced to watch how they have hurt other people until they understand what they did was wrong and beg for repentance.
Please bring me up to date: wasn't the purgatory officially abolished, just like the limbo? I'm not sure so I'm just asking...
A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty - it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man.
