Well this subject in itself is one that probably shouldn't span to just Java games, but other web based games as well(Unity seems promising for 3D games on the web for instance, and HTML5 looks like it will eventually take over). During an interview with the team at Armor Games for OC Weekly they discussed the future of flash games in general, and this is what was said:
âFlash will absolutely die over a few years,â McNeely says. âBut it isnât a big deal to us.â When the time comes, he says, his developers will just start using the more popular program.
Now then moving back to the actual topic at hand I see no issue with allowing Java games so long as they are up to the quality standards that are already put in place for all of the current flash games that are submitted to the site. I don't think anyone needs to worry about the site getting flooded with low quality games if they allowed Java, mainly because they already approve each game before it is submitted to the site to begin with though.
Ohh, must just be my internet, I see the stuff now. My internet stinks Anyways, I don't know much about flash games. Are you saying Java programs the games for them, or what?
