Ok guys, so in Modern Warfare 2 I have decided to become an all time sniper with only handguns as my secondary. This is probably the only way I can stay interested in this game. Anyway, I was wondering which sniper rifle has better bullet penetration, the Intervention or the Barret .50cal? I need this information please for my class set ups. Thanks guys

Anyway, I think that the Intervention has better bullet penetration, because I saw a video of these guys testing all 4 snipers. What they did was have someone stand at the back of Terminal with each sniper, with 6 people running toward him. The Barrett only killed 5 of the 6 while the other 3 sniper rifles killed all 6. I would recommend using the Intervention out of those 3 snipers because the WA2000 and M21 are really easy to use and aren't even fun to use.

I think that the Barret and the Intervention are close to the same penetration, but they favor different styles. My point being, if you use the Intervention, you should go for the quick-scoping approach, while if you use the Barret you should go for a more methodical, slow-paced camping approach.
The WA2000 is too simplistic to use, it ruins all the fun, and the M14 is only effective on Hardcore, otherwise you'll spend two or more shots just trying to drop one person.
the higher the overall damage tating, the more penetration it has >.>
and i use the WA2000 and adjust it to the map, it doesn't have a huge recoil like the barrett, so i don't have to waste a perk on stopping power just so the 1st shot counts, and because i can fire off a lot more shots panic-scoping (XD) when someone pops up really quick. Intervention... meh, used to use it all the time, but now not so much. for some reason i get ore kills with the wa200 per game than with an intervention.
and deifnetly take the advice said above on quickscoping, intervention's the best one for that.
the intervention has more+you should be using fmj becuase thermal is crap acog crap heartbeat you shouldnt be looking at, extended mags no need. also with the intervention its bolt action so in a way it controls your fire. with the barret most ppl including me tend to start to spam with it being semi auto. and, the barret is alot louder. also one more thing, u said u are using pistols only as secondaries, well the m9 silenced shows up on radar, m9 when tac knifed the iron sights are off
