Yah, a strategy game made by yours truly.
It's simple. You'll be given a list of units and equipment, and you will also usually know the enemy's equipment and units as well(at least a guesstimate). You must respond as best you can. The more detailed, the better. There are no character sheets, you're just a nameless general.

---------------------------------------------------------------------Combat Conditions Report------------------------------------------------------------
Date: December 11, 2008
Time: 0630
Location: Baghdad, Iraq
Weather Conditions: Light snowfall and heavy winds.

-------------------------------------------------------Enemy Forces Report-----------------------------------------------
Enemies Total*: 500
Enemy Units*: Infantryman, Officer, Ambusher, Heavy Artillery
Enemy Fortifications: Enemy is holed up in fortified adobe ruins. Unpredictable footing, uneven environment with lots of places for ambushers to hide. The adobe is crumbling, and a few attempts by the enemy to fortify it have been only mildly successful. Barbed wire surrounds the entire encampment.
Enemy Awareness: Enemy is expecting an attack but they do not know when. They will continue to fortify their position and receive more supplies and reinforcements the more time that passes.
Enemy Morale: The enemy has been stuck here for several months and their morale is depleting. Although they have a steady line of supplies from other allies and officers to keep them in line, if you were to remove either of those two factors from the equation some of them might surrender. However, their fanaticism will hold most of them together, as well as fear of reprisal.

---------------------------------------------------------------------Allied Forces Report----------------------------------------------------------------
Units: 350
Unit Types:Infantryman[M-16 Assault Rifle, Flak Jacket, M67 Fragmentation Grenade], Sniper/Sentry[XM-21 Sniper Rifle, Desert Ghille Suit, Radio], Assault[XM8 LAR, Flak Jacket, Camouflage Uniform], Special Ops[FN-SCAR Light, Camouflage Uniform, Silencer, Red Smoke].
Unit Breakdown: 250 Infantrymen, 50 Assault, 40 Sniper/Sentries, 10 Special Operations.
Fortifications: Currently planning operations in small hideout. Temporary camouflage, but will be discovered by enemy brigades(if this is to be avoided, constant movement is necessary). In addition, unless further reinforced, cannot sustain for long.
Other: While most civilians are holed up in their own little reinforcement at the enemy base, some of the more oblivious are roaming the streets. Keep them out of harm's way.

MISSION STATEMENT
Destroy enemy encampment at all costs, and retrieve the vital information therein. Capture or kill any enemies you encounter, using all resources available to you. Keep the civilians out of harm's way.
How will you achieve your mission?

First:

I send my snipers to do a tactical recon. Protect my infantry and others. Place them in small, cover-heavy locations.

Next: I send out 5 Spec Ops men to get citenzens out of the surrounding area by offering them food and supplies of medcicine, food, and water.

Next: I send 3 Spec Ops men to recon the surrounding adobe area, mark civie positions, and report back to base.

Then: I send my artillery to barrage the adobes, as specified by my info from the Spec Ops, so as to not hit citezens.

Finally: I send a squad of Infantryman, to look for civie damages, and report enemy causualties.

I send my snipers to do a tactical recon. Protect my infantry and others. Place them in small, cover-heavy locations.
Result: Snipers successfully complete reconnaissance on enemy fortifications. Relocation of infantry is unsuccessful as snow and wind impede exploration into unknown and unscouted areas.

Next: I send out 5 Spec Ops men to get citenzens out of the surrounding area by offering them food and supplies of medcicine, food, and water.
Result: Special Operations team is successful in gathering several civilians together and returning them to base, however the supplies that you have promised are unavailable. You have only enough food, water, and medicine to sustain your force. If you share it with the civvies, it is likely you will run out before the mission is complete and be forced to scavenge for it or go without. Respond to this dilemma in next post or civilians will wander off, at risk again.

Next: I send 3 Spec Ops men to recon the surrounding adobe area, mark civie positions, and report back to base.
Result: The three special operations soldiers are sent to the enemy base successfully. They are unable to accurately mark civilian positions without further investigating into the enemy fortifications. If they do, however, they could be spotted and ambushed.

1: have sniper teams set up around the compound, making sure to overlook any trails or likely routes of escape. have spotters get general outside recon of the fortifications, and if possible shifts of the guards.
2: send in 4 spec ops to do further reconaissance, as well as set charges in any weaknesses in the adobe walls ( or do i have demo charges?)

3:have 4 more Spec ops search for civvies and 'encourage' them to stay home.

First:
I call in supplies for the civies. Medical, Food, and Water. I try to have them delivered inconspicously, with the highest secrecy availible.

Second:
I try to fortify positions for a heavy assault. Barbed wire, sandbags, conventional defences for now.

Third:
To distract the Iraquis, I send in a decoy drone. I then send in my Spec Ops to mark locations of civies.

Near Side of Enemy Encampment
To begin with, send the infantrymen to attack at the front from a range not venturing into encampment, but throwing nades into it. Rather distracting the enemies, rather than a full frontal conflict. Backing away when fire gets too heavy. As well as having all the snipers performing suppressive fire from the far back. Set assault team in ambush if any enemies come out through the front.

Far Side of Enemy Encampment
Send in the Spec Ops to slip in and target the officers first, then progress to disable the heavy artillery.

General Mister Doctor Sir Noobalot
1: have sniper teams set up around the compound, making sure to overlook any trails or likely routes of escape. have spotters get general outside recon of the fortifications, and if possible shifts of the guards.
Result: Sniper teams comprised of the standard 5-each spread out around the encampment. They attempt to find a high position(I'm assuming that's what you meant by overlook, not ignore). However the snipers are attacked by a group of enemy ambushers in the area(-5 Snipers, -2 Enemy Ambushers). The spotter teams are successful in reconnaissance and you now know the guard shifts.

2: send in 4 spec ops to do further reconaissance, as well as set charges in any weaknesses in the adobe walls ( or do i have demo charges?)
Result: You are not equipped with charges, however the special operations soldiers are successful in reconnaissance with the exception of one ambush party, which they did manage to defeat(+2 Wounded Spec Ops soldiers, -10 Enemy Ambushers). During their foray into enemy territory, the special operations team discovers a hidden supply room containing much of the enemy's equipment. It is heavily guarded.

General AKGuy
I call in supplies for the civies. Medical, Food, and Water. I try to have them delivered inconspicously, with the highest secrecy availible.
Result: Upon your request, supplies are sent in via aircraft. This mission does not rate top security and equipment, so a standard C-12 Huron aircraft is sent in secretly, stocked with supplies for you. However, it is spotted and shot down by an enemy patrol. It has not yet been looted by the enemy and retrieving the supplies from the crashed airplane is still a viable option.

I try to fortify positions for a heavy assault. Barbed wire, sandbags, conventional defences for now.
Result: You have no defensive equipment of the sort to fortify your position.

To distract the Iraquis, I send in a decoy drone. I then send in my Spec Ops to mark locations of civies.
Result: You have no decoy drone. Your Special Operations team is sent in and successfully locates many of the civilians, however a lot of them will be constantly moving and thus this action is useless. Enemy Awareness raised to Alert.

General Pursuit
To begin with, send the infantrymen to attack at the front from a range not venturing into encampment, but throwing nades into it. Rather distracting the enemies, rather than a full frontal conflict. Backing away when fire gets too heavy. As well as having all the snipers performing suppressive fire from the far back. Set assault team in ambush if any enemies come out through the front.
Result: The infantrymen approach the enemy encampment and start tossing grenades in. The defenses in the enemy encampment were built for a human assault, not simply artillery, and so a significant amount of enemy defenses are simply blown away by the frags. A few enemies and civilians are killed(-17 Enemy Infantrymen, -3 Civilians), but then a lot of them hole up and start to return fire. The infantrymen turn tail and start to retreat, protected by the snipers' suppressive fire(-3 Enemy Infantrymen) but they are chased and pinned down by enemy fire where the snipers cannot help them(-6 Infantrymen, -2 Enemy Infantrymen) until the Assault soldiers reinforce them in the combat(-5 Enemy Infantrymen). Then they are bombarded with enemy artillery(-12 Infantrymen, -1 Enemy Artillery) before they are finally able to escape.

Send in the Spec Ops to slip in and target the officers first, then progress to disable the heavy artillery.
Result: Special Operations soldiers are successful in officer assassination for the most part(-7 Enemy Officers), however one attempted assassination is unsuccessful(+1 Captured Spec Ops) and the rest of the Special Operations team is forced to retreat before they are able to sabotage the enemy artillery.

ask command for a high-altitude bomber to fly over, dropping an altered smart-bomb( so it can be guided) w/ a camouflaged parachute, and have it loaded with C4, as C4 will not explode on impact w/o the special detonators.

also ask for a UAV w/ thermal cameras to detect enemy ambushers.

Result: Your request is denied, however they say that they will give you C4 via secret midnight transportation if all else fails.

also ask for a UAV w/ thermal cameras to detect enemy ambushers.
Result: Your request is again denied, however they do drop enough night-vision visors and binoculars for all your snipers/sentries(+Binoculars, Night Vision Visors for Sentry/Sniper]

Snipers

Keep them watching the encampment, if they see the captured spec ops, initially try to take out enemies around him, but if too many around kill own spec ops.

Infantry Men and Assault

Set them in ambush around the encampment, draw enemy out with the spec ops.
