Such a fantastic statement I don't understand how discussion can be generated but i shall try. The old ones are great I didn't like the new one due to the reason that it was too politicaly correct hence the black kid as the main character.

Yeah I quite liked the new one - although I'm a wuss and it made me wince to see little kids getting beaten up and falling down on concrete.

The original was very good. I had the song stuck in my head today... "You're the Best - Around... and Noone's gonna ever keep you down"

Yeah why is the new karate kid suddenly black?
Doesn't make sense, why change it...

Well, I guess they wanted to make something new, but were to lazy to come up with the whole movie, so they used a pattern and changed just a few things...

I just bought the new one and I already saw the original and really liked it hope the new one is as good as original.

the karate kid is a very cool and interesting movie. i love the end where he wins the kungfu tournament

I like the new one due to the fact that it's it's own movie, and a very good one as well.

Eh...I wouldn't advise people to see it. It's extremely predictable, and I think they relied a little too much on just the name value(Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi, for instance). I liked the original well enough, I suppose, but the new one not so much. Probably because all they did was add a few famous people, make the karate kid black, and send him to China instead of the karate kid being in America. Other than that, the plot was exactly the same....
