Well I'm thinking of getting a new laptop (again) and I turn to the AG community on what kind should I get whether it be an HP, Dell, of Toshiba I don't care as long it's good for web browsing, gaming, and maybe editing some things.
My dad had an HP for work and the hard drive fried. He has had problems with his new HP too, so I would not endorse that. Toshibas are probably the most cost efficient. I personally choose a Dell, though. Whichever laptop you choose, make sure you buy it on their website. And don't forget to check for deals on their site, too. I saved over $300!
I've also heard that HPs have gone down hill, and a lot of people have issues with them. I'd steer clear of them. I haven't been fond of Toshibas either. I'd say go with a Dell or Asus. Just make sure it's at least a dual core processor.
I will say that I absolutely love my Gateway, but didn't someone acquire them?
Adobe gave the middle finger to Apple a little while back . . . >.> Furthermore, buying anything by Apple is an instant epic fail.
In response to the OP it depends what games you're playing. If you want a top-of-the-line gaming laptop go for Alienware or Asus. Otherwise I'd go for a cheap Dell because they will run Flash games and undemanding software and nearly any laptop can do basic video editing.
I didn't really want one but my dad bought it as I surprise I wanted I ps3 or xbox 360 but my dad didn't agree but it's still pretty good I have a really good wiki app
I have a studio 17. It's nice. It was more then $650, though. It's got a 500gb hard drive, intel core i5 processor, windows 7 home premium, backlit keyboard, 17.3" screen, and a whole lot of other techy stuff.
Like several people have said, Dell is probably the way to go. When I bought a laptop I had it custom built by a non-name brand. So when the graphics card died(one month after the warranty...) I couldn't replace it for a reasonable price. Had I bought a Dell I could have gotten one for a reasonable price. But then I wouldn't have my core i7, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD desktop.
[url=http://http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/] it's in apples point of view I didn't read all of it but I got to the part were they explain why they don't have flash on iPod iPhone iPad
