I agree with darkroot, Steam has loads of cheap, but brilliant games, have a look on Youtube at Day of Defeat + Day of Defeat Source. Both very good first person shooters. I've had hours of gameplay fun with them games which I purchased for about £10.00. Best of luck.
NBA 2K11 is coming out soon. People are touting it as the best basketball game ever. I think it got a 9.5 on IGN (or somewhere...) but I'm not sure if that is for the console version only.
Nonetheless, I'll be getting this awesome game. My Player and the Michael Jordan mode will be supreme.
PC? should be in flash games, but some good games for PC is blasterball 2, fate, Chuzzle(i think thats what its called), just search these on google.
What the HELL are you talking about? If you were completely unaware that PC has full-featured games buyable on disk, delete every account on video games forums that you own. PC has nearly three decades of gaming behind it.
Lastest good games of PC?
It depends on what you mean by latest. If I was going to recommend a PC FPS franchise it would be Unreal Tournament. The latest instalment was Unreal Tournament III (released in 2008), but the best one was Unreal Tournament 2007.
If you want a reputed franchise go for Battlefield or Call of Duty. Call of Duty 1 and 5 were excellent and people like Modern Warfare 1. Make sure to steer clear of Modern Warfare 2 and all its over-priced DLCs. Another series would be Battlefield, Battlefield 1942 was awesome, and Bad Company 2 is the latest version and people are loving that.
Singularity is an adventure game based in some Russian place. You get this thing that controls time, but you also have weapons and apparently messing about with time and shooting psychotic zombies is a hell of a lot of fun. Speaking of zombies, you might like to try Left 4 Dead 2 which is a newer release, and it's basically a group of four guys against hordes and hordes of zombies.
Fallout 3 is an awesome mixture of shooter and RPG made by Bethesda, who are an awesome company. Fallout New Vegas is coming out in a month and seven days time and made by Obsidian which is a development studio largely built on the remnants of Black Isle, arguably the best RPG company ever.
Half Life 2 is always voted the best PC shooter of all time, I've never had a shot, but it's hard to argue with IGN, Gamespot and just about every other hardcore PC gamer on the planet.
If you want something free Quake Live is still free (however it's making the transition to a P2P model) and AssaultCube is an awesome little open-source shooter.
Have fun -- once you wallet has been stripped of pennies.

1. Any good game on console that is adapted to PC, is a good game for PC. 2. PC is better for a multitude of reasons in gaming than consoles, despite the fact that consoles are solely for gaming (as are some PC's, I might add). 3. Some flash games are as fun or funny as real games, it doesn't matter that they're smaller, because bad ideas and bad players on real games can effect it worse. Epic War 2 and Bubble Tanks are 2 exceptionally fun games.
Im planing to buy lots of games but im not very sure which games :| P.S. i like fps
Easy answers: FPS Customization - Team Fortress 2 FPS Fast-pace - Call of Duty: Black Ops FPS Teamwork - Battlefield Bad Company 2 (and its expansion thats coming out).
If you like RTS: Competitive RTS - StarCraft II MMORTS - Age of Empires Online (coming out in 2011, can't wait!)
If you want to make the most use out of a keyboard, I suggest you get an RTS as its hotkeys will be required and it is actually fun using them. It's like "Hey! I can do all this by typing!"
Anyway. PC is better, was better, and always will be. Especially since its had 3 decades of gaming behind its back and Xbox 360's have had... very little in comparison.
Not to mention you can adapt any game genre to a PC, whereas it will be incredibly hard & slow doing the same for an Xbox. Such as an RTS, even the sensitivity will be a pain for it. Sure - they got Halo Wars, but that doesn't have nearly the same RTS style as others such as SCII and AoE.
I agree with CommanderDude. Once you start playing Civ5, you almost cannot stop. Today I finished off England and India not much longer than 5 minutes ago.
For an FPS I've heard decent things about Reach. It could be good until Black Ops comes out. If you have Steam, get TF2.
Reach is 360 exclusive. Halo has been 360 exclusive since the third instalment, Halo 3.
Once you start playing Civ5, you almost cannot stop.
I'm still sticking to Civilization IV. Fall From Heaven makes the game so awesome there's simply no need to upgrade to Civilization V, especially since I've not seen anything revolutionary about the game. I'll probably wait for a cheap GOTY version.
