i heard about that. I'm pretty sure scientists were talking about that years ago, just made it official recently, though.

Oh yeah... I read it on Yahoo before.

I don't know if there is any lifeforms in the planet, but scientists are pretty sure that that planet could be the "Second Earth"

This planet we're talking about is like 25 light years away so it would be almost impossible to get there. You have to keep having children and you won't even see the planet yourself once the rocket gets there.

I sincerely doubt that we will make such progresses in the near future to travel 25 light years fast enough for us to witness it. Just imagine: you have to travel at constant speed of light for 25 years. And first you have to develop the technology. We're not even remotely there.

Anyway I don't understand why people make such a hype around those huge balls of rock floating in nothingness. They probably have some bacterias on them. So what? We know almost nothing of our oceans! We have yet to discover a whole new world on our very planet. Let us do this first shall we?

Exactly. There are a bunch of unknown species on Earth that we haven't even discovered yet, not to mention that it's perfectly fine to live on Earth for a while before we have to "move" to another planet.

we already "know" what we need to do to move through space we just dont have the money to develop the tech.

Well, we just can't move people out to space for 25 light years to go to that planet. It's just a waste of time to do that.

we already "know" what we need to do to move through space we just dont have the money to develop the tech.

First, you have to wait until they have analyzed the planet thoroughly enough to be sure it is viable. In the mean time, you have to wait until they developed the technology to transport generations of humans in an interstellar, self-supplying station to the planet, containing enough technology and ressources to settle down there. Then of course you have to wait until they got there and sent a message back (as soon as you and them both have the technology for it).

When that will happen, we will be only dust in the wind, blowing around earth for the 10^99999999999999999999999999999999th time.

Yes I know that, but I meant in the distant future. And if we were to move to another planet it would probably be Mars.

So many grammar mistakes! It's making me crazy.
Of course in the next 2 centuries we'll have the tech, but that's a long time if you think about it.
