Well from what I know about the subject, most of them emigrate here because of the poor quality of life there.
Have you ever thought of putting yourself in their situations? I mean, would you rather you and your family starve slowly/become wandering and homeless, or abide by the rules of a neighboring country? Obviously, you would choose to get an easy job here to help put food on the table and a roof over your head.
Also, many big companies aren't opposed to it because they can have those workers and pay them the minimum without a higher chance of Union, strikes, requests for raises, better worker rights etc. Obviously, most members of the middle and lower classes are usually opposed because it cuts in on their income or whether they have a job or not.
Another reason could be that if we actually took it seriously, then we'd have to work very hard, pouring in unscrupulous amounts of money, time, and workforce into doing something that isn't as important as many of the problems we have already, including overseas conflict, massive international debt, education, healthcare, you name it. We just can't afford to deal with it on such a big scale so that if makes a big difference.

Well, here are some reasons.
1. Some illegal immigrants have been here for their entire lives. Is it fair to dislocate them and send them back to Mexico?
2. Sending illegal immigrants back would take a lot of time, effort, and money that could be much better spent.
The others have pretty much been covered by Whimsy.
Part of our debt comes from illegal immigrants, who don't pay taxes but get money from the government.

There's such a thing as stupid laws, just saying.
For example, you can't work or do chores on Sunday or you could end up in jail.
They should, but if they do they will come back again. I think that if you're illegal, you have no rights in America except the basic rights of a human being. If you're an illegal, You shouldn't:

If they really want to be citizens, they should become legal.

They do. Half of my school now is Hispanic [not sure how much is illegal] but there are alot of Hispanic gangs (Latin Kings, Satan Disciples, etc.) in my school.
Do I see alot of gang violence?
Like one fight so far in school.
Are there alot of drugs?
The first few days of my Freshman year I saw a dude smoking a joint (I could tell the way it was wrapped) and this one guy from my middle school who I used to have lunch with [white dude] is now a drug dealer.
So there are gangs, but I don't see alot of them.

That may be true, but it is the dominant language and most illegals don't even try to learn the language. Most of them are mean and lazy and give bad names to the immigrants who were smart enough to become legal citizens.
