Earth thrown into the chaos of WWIIII.Devastation rains. Nuclear weapons wipe out all earth. Only one colony escapes: A small town by the name of BronzeHead, under the lead of an ambitious scientists. Do to the sudden happening of the war, they had no supplies gathered and had little room for supplies. The scientist made a choice: He would take pressurized gases required for life onto the ship do to carrying ability and make plants when they got to there destination. It was a complete success. They landed on a distant, unnamed planet, unsuitable for life currently... But it had an atmosphere similar to earths, with a little tweaking they could live here easily.
The people had no supplies for metals, so they were forced to live in there crowded ship along with there plants. They were running out of room, and fast. Just when disease starts spreading, the scientist gets desperate. He looked at what he had. Most of the materials were use less as solids, oxygen and the like, then he decided on the only one that would make a strong materiel, Carbon. He put a large amount of carbon into the gas compressor, cooled it to a solid, then applied high pressure and heat. The result? Diamond, the hardest mineral known to man! He formed it as the solid coal, and then hardened it, forming diamond building materiel. However he was one of the people who contracted a disease in the crowded space, died. And with him, died most of earth's technology. Fortunately the new planet became suitable for human life after only five years. The people went back to there old jobs:Farming and mining, being the main.
The technology they had was not great: Only what was on the ship. And that was the diamond maker, the other ship parts were destroyed in the landing.
Now three hundred years after the event, the people are prosperous. They only have Dark age technology, using the diamonds as there ancestors had steel, but they are peaceful mostly. The nobles are also soldiers, only do to traditions being held on earth for a huge amount of time. Other than that, they were a peaceful people.
That is, until the day a scout ship from Earth landed on the planet...
