I'm in with the Yoshi crowd, by a country mile.

However Birdo also gets my vote because he/she's the first 'transgender' character in the history of Nintendo lol.

Obviously the Power Ranger Smithy guys from Super Mario RPG for the SNES.

Yoshi is both useful and pretty much invincible until you kick it off of a cliff.

Man, I can't ever choose. I was obsessed with Princess Peach as a child, being a girl, but I think I'd have to go with MARIO of course XD

Luigi or maybe bullet bill, they're funny.

To actually play any of the games (except Smash Bros.) I have to say Mario. He's the star and as such has the best array of abilities and all-around usefulness in all of the Mario games. Everyone else usually brings one or two useful skills to the table but that's about it.

As a character, any varation of Toad. There's just something about the midget in the Hammer pants wearing a mushroom cap for a hat that I dig.
