Just turn your t.v.'s contrast down completely if you are having trouble with those black bars that block half the screen(Please note that i dont know if this works with newer tvs though)
lol, buy a capture card it records your screen.There is a cheap one, looks way better then holding a video camera to the tv screen.
It would help me start making Let's Plays.
