This has bothered me since I first started gaming with my boyfriend. It all started when we were playing Gears of War 2 online. He is a major Gear Head, and was obviously better than me. Thats an understatement A LOT better than me. One day we're playing online and he says, "Girls can't game! Look at your K/D." At that moment my blood instantly started to boil! A lot of my guy friends think the same way. So i'm just curious, is this really what the majority of male gamers out there think? Or is it just their way of taunting?
ive played lots of mmos where ive been playing for years and lots of players ive played with are female, for example when i played runescape years ago a lot of the members in my guild were females and almost all of them where better players than me, even those who had relatively new accounts compared to mine.
I actually have a few friends that are girls that can whip my butt at CoD which I couldnt care less pending on how I dont play it anymore. But still Even when there is a girl theyre still at least alright.that might be because they can focus better especially compared to my friend.
Answering the original question, I do believe it is what the majority believe, at least here in Quebec. Though I don't use it in a sexist fashion, I do believe a lot more guys play videogames, but then again I don't live in the states. I don't know a single girl that games, let alone one that can beat me at any game; my girlfriend hates it, which ticks me off since I'm a true blue gamer.
I think that over the years, it has become one of my most fervent desire to be beaten by a girl at such games as SSBM or Guilty gear. I'd marry her right away for sure.
u would not believe how much girls pwn people, the best Halo player i know is a girl, the best Ratchet and Clank player i know (cept myself, cuz i pwn everyone ) is a gril, the best Call Of Duty player i know is a girl, the list goes on a on...
You see, given the place where I live, I can hardly say that, sadly. Girls are just starting to get somewhat interested in videogaming here, and most of the time it's about crap like movie derived games or nintendogs. They believe gaming is puerile...*sigh*
I use to play Counter-Strike pretty hardcore and i knew, played vs, played with a lot of girls who were better than me. The reason most guys think girls can't game is because there isn't a large enough population of girl gamers. Back when CS was on the downswing of popularity the whole girl gaming scene was booming and a lot of skilled ladies were teaming up and winning a good deal of money beating guys and girls.
Theres actually a group of girls who play competetive gaming called the frag dolls GIRL POWER!!!!!!! Although, most of them are size 4 blondes. I love gaming im tragic at COD but most other things im good at.
if you watch my mom play video games, especially if she is playing starwars battlefront, is awesome. So, girls have game, but some of them aren't that good.
It's a very touchy subject so I will go with the opinion that girls have game unless they prove to everyone that they don't. 'Till then, My GF can get a higher K/D than almost anyone on my team.
It also makes me upset at times. But I let my trigger finger do the talking. I haven't had an Xbox 360 since Halo 2 was popular. I'm considering getting another one just to play Halo Reach and Fable III.
Not my point. I was unstoppable at first person shooters online. My best was Halo 2. I really loved SWAT on Lockout....oh good memories.
