Ever watch a movie or read a book where the story was good, but then the ending is horrible. I watched the second season of The Colony on Discovery, and this season was really good (that is if you watched it, if you didn't it's be like "OMG we just found a can of old food! and you'd think these people were sick) Anyway, they had an awesome finale but then I wanted to know what happened (in other words, it left me hanging)
tell you the truth, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. THAT. MOVIE. WAS. AWESOME. untill the end. The sequences at the end, including the army, was pretty good, but the police just coming in and arresting them just... didnt work. the whole "fourth wall" gag ending just wasn't even that funny, and it just left you wanting more. too much more. plus, they had every right to show those french SOBS what was coming to them. They should of just killed the cops, freed Lancelot, and stormed the castle anyway. And after they gave the grail to God, the police would like go on a death charge to the castle or whatever, and they should have had an awesome defense seen with catapulting animals, lancelot going on another killing spree, another swallow reference, and on and on and on. Now THATS an awesome ending!
The first book in the Hunger Games (called 'The Hunger Games' left me with a huge cliffhanger. I was so mad that I had to get the 2nd book. And then, THE SECOND BOOK LEFT ME HANGING ALSO. SO I had to get the 3rd book and read it. I'm still not done with it so I have yet to read the ending.
ya alot of people complained but thats the way steven king wanted it to end. he didnnt want the happy ending. and it was never supposed to have a happy ending.
and wolf. just because a movie doesnt particulerly follow the story doesnt make it a bad movie. steven king wrote the script and alot of stuff for the movie so he actually did a good job with it. sure the ending was very sad and fucked up but hey its A HORROR FILM thats how they are supposed to be and quite frankly that movie was awefull into the last 45 minutes
I actually enjoyed cirque du freaks ending. It was a nice touch for a series that was written with inherent darkness and death. A happy ending would have ruined not only the storyline but the stories style and class. Try rereading it, I also didn't like it the first time. But after going through it again i was able to appreciate and enjoy the ending.
Platoon: Everything was so good until the final five minutes. Would Charlie Sheen, a completely believable character, so emotionally drained and lost in the war, really do what he does? It's an awful way to end a truly great film. Oliver Stone, what were you thinking? You should know better.
My least favorite ending ever was Mockingjay. Hated that ending, because it didn't end up the way i, and i'm pretty sure many others, wanted it to end.

I liked Gale better and of course I wanted Prim to live(totally wasn't expecting that) but I enjoyed the ending regardless.
I would have to say that a horrid ending to an amazing movie would be Frailty. Anyone ever seen it? The story and acting is great right up till the last part. The twist ending is so horrid, it would make even M. Night Shyamalan cringe.
I can't remember any truly bad ones right now, but V for Vendetta's ending didn't go long enough. Anyone who's heard of the movie please say on my profile as no one i've met in non internet worlds heard of it
They try so hard to leave room for sequels that they not only ruin the finality of the movie you're watching, but create a situation where the sequel must be, by necessity of the ending of it's predecessor, inherently corny. This is probably why I greatly prefer books to modern film.
I agree, except for X-Men 3 which ended, but then after the credits rolled played a nifty little extra scene that was done in such a way that it could have meant nothing or could spell squeal. Being extra footage allowed for the movie to end properly.
One movie trilogy that ended horribly. The Matrix.
The first Matrix you,re like, "Got to see more!"
The second Matrix you're like, "That was okay, but what will happen."
The third Matrix you're like, "What? That was a waste of time."
Skyline. Yuck. Lame ending, and obvious sequel for a crappy movie. Thing is though, that the movie would basically try to get much deep or something and make itself even worse. It'll probably be something like, "You humans attacked us millions of years ago and now we want revenge!" or "We were here first, so technically YOU are the aliens and now we want to kill you stupid humans" or "we are a dying race that needs your brains cause..."
Well, I actually think the movie "Skyline" had a pretty bad ending. Even though there is going to be a sequel, I think they could've done a better job.

I agree! I cannot believe Prim died. It was so unfair.
