Well, I just got the news that the next year of my life will revolve around my torn ACL. I have surgery next year followed by a 6-10 month recovery time.

Any of you ever torn your it? If so any advice? Or if you happen to know a lot about sports injuries that works too.

...That stinks, well good luck with that. I never tore my ACL, but I broke my wrist. It didn't hurt much, but I felt sick and it was like freakishly deformed.

I have never torn my ACL. But I've watched the sports players get injured by that.

Just do what ever you can. And hang in there.

the only thing i know for sure about ACL tears is that they SUCK. my friend tore his playing basketball and he has some gnarly scars from the surgery.

my advice: focus on the little things that brighten your day

That's good at least, I broke my ankle two years ago so I know what I'm doing; kind of.

Just do what ever you can. And hang in there.

That's basically what I've been doing, it's really screwed up a lot but there has to be a positive there somewhere.

Scratch that I have surgery next month and it should read have any of you even torn yours? *In regards to the OP.

@Craze I hyper-extended it and pivoted while playing soccer, and I'm fairly sure your friend didn't completely tear it, that or he's superman.

Enjoy yourself Samy, and I hope you have a better time of it than I did. I tore my ACL and damaged my meniscus when I was younger and I had a hell of a time. I'm glad you are getting surgery soon. The biggest pain for me was not being allowed to walk for 8 weeks after my surgery which really put me in a sour mood. Most of that I think was because of the damage to the cartilage though.

Oh wow, well it makes me feel a bit better that at least someone out there had it happen a little more extremely; and you've lived fairly well on it?

My doctor said I was extremely lucky I didn't damage my meniscus or tear my MCL as well as my ACl, I suppose I could be worse.
