okay, so I was sleeping in math class, dreaming about... kayaking or something. anyway, whatever the dream was, I punched the guy in front of me while I was sleeping, which woke me up. apparently I hit him kind of hard, too, 'coz he just glared at me for a sec' and rubbed his back...
anyway, it's not the first time. I've chucked things that were in my hands when I fell asleep across tables during dreams about baseball (including my friend's iPod... he wasn't very happy). really only happens at school, but still.
anyway, any strange things that you guys do involving sleep, before you go to sleep, in your sleep, or just funny sleep stories?
One time when I fell asleep in my recliner one of my cats decided to jump up on me to cuddle. This woke me up, and in the process of waking up I grabbed the cat (now on my chest) and threw her across the room. (poor cat)
I once dreamed I was fighting Freddy Krueger and when I woke up I had a big scratch across my chest. o_O
I have a reoccurring nightmare of being attacked by hordes of zombies.
I'm also a hopeless insomniac. (it's 3:20a.m. right now)
Quirky sleep habits? Not really. I can sleep anywhere and in just about any position and environment. I suppose my last 'quirky' habit was when I got back from overseas. My wife informs me that I had a habit of reenacting whatever nightmare or whatever I was having, often to the point where she had to get out of bed and go sleep on the couch because I was flailing around, beating up the pillows, and rearranging the bedroom, all in my sleep. Fortunately that has since passed and I rarely do that anymore, although there are random occurrences, though nothing on the level it was before.
i almost never dream but when i do i am able to control them with conscious thought. they are very vivid and i once found myself thrashing on the ground in the hallway out side my bedroom.

I've heard of worse from being in the service, I knew this one guy who served and well... let's just say the enemy would have just needed to give him sleeping pills to get him to talk.
Not really much sleep to be had. My job basically amounted to searching buildings for the key players in the terrorist organizations as well as Saddam's leadership. We went out on ops, searched an area, came back to base and tried to sleep, have a few drinks, and forget where we were for a day or two. Then it was back out. I hear it's quite a bit more laid back now, but I was there when we were first moving in, establishing bases, and before the bureaucrats tied our hands.

Yeah, probably. Most of my family is military, and I can remember stories about WW2, Korea, and 'Nam, so I can appreciate how easy we had it in the sandbox.
I don't think I ever move in response to dreams. I have noted a few times that I've woken up and the buttons on the cover for the quilt have been completely undone.
I have heard that one man dreamed fifty years of his life in multiple and successive false awakenings before finally winding up in the French revolution years later and as his head was cut off by a guillotine and painting fell on his neck in real life. It was supposed to prove that years in your sleep is mere seconds in real life and also the power of lucid dreams. I can't verify the story, but it's probably lying on the internet somewhere.
Sometimes when I have already woken up in the morning, I can control what I do in my dreams...It's kind of cool, sometimes I can even feel things in my dreams like if I'm walking around.
