you'll notice how most of the COD votes are 1-2 words, none of the Halo ones are like that. That says something about the general intelligence level of the CoD community in comparison to the Halo community

Indeed, I don't think anyone would be so loyal to Halo if they didn't have a good reason, a great reason why I have more respect for them than any CoD player.

Halo, is definately more balanced, it actually has vehicles, it has acceptable-sized maps (with a lovely story behind each of them), it has both THEATER and FORGE which vastly improves longevity and fun behind the game, and has a better community in total.

However, they need to make the next Halo for PC, then I will definitely buy it.
I really don't appreciate the Xbox.

CoD?
Well let's see.
It has unbalanced weapons, ill-thought out maps (like Wasteland on MW2 or Shipment on CoD4) and a serious lack of skill required.
That last reason? I don't know if it applies to Halo but I've never heard a Halo player.
But if I did I don't think they play it for "skill", whether or not they do, then again, I'm positive that CoD players want it more - even though they suck!

I mean, seriously?! I'm RUSTY compared to my prime time, and hell, I can easily whoop any average CoD players @ss. Even the general term "quickscoping" is incredibly easy for me after a SINGLE GAME of trying it, yeah?
After I had that one game of doing it I had virtually a guarantee of hitting an enemy from any range in the map of Highrise. It is really that easy and I despise people who look for the one in a million shots and after trying it a million times they're like "ZOMGZOMG ZOMG!!1ONEONE!1!!ONE!11"

Not only do they think they're good, but when it's proven they're bad, what do they do? Make excuses, gee... You own mate.

I've gotten a win against a 1v5 of average MW2 players on Highrise because they were in a clan and thought they owned.

... They even had Teamspeak...

Oh, and they hosted...

Did I mention they were supposeably actual pro's?

*Sigh*

/End Rant

Other than that, if we add Community - Halo.
If we exclude community - CoD, because it's on the computer and would be much more enjoyable without those insociable retards.

Riptide can u give me a reason please?
Same for turdfighter, I like futuristic stuff as well - maybe not as much as modern, but I would like something more specific

Oh and baypoint1, here's a few things you won't know about CoD (or other games) because you only get the info you know from other local CoD fanboys.

1. The Jetpack was introduced in a mod / expansion for Battlefield: Vietnam which is significantly older than CoD.
2. The idea of a flamethrower was already introduced in Vietnam as well.
3. Sprinting was introduced in Battlefield 2 or even Operation Flashpoint. Was that not introduced in something later than CoD1? Because in either case, CoD ripped off at least Operation Flashpoint.
4. Throwing Knife? I don't have the source but I'm pretty sure this is from something else wayyyyy before MW2.
If someone can find me the source that would be great
5. Theater = Halo, not CoD.

So when you say that Halo is a ripoff, why don't you look at every other game since all of them are derivative from others of the same genre?
Sure, Battlefield stole some ideas (I think) and so did Halo, but hey! Neither of them (nor CoD) are to blame.

Hell, a game like World of Warcraft is so successful because all they do is steal ideas - it's the most successful idea anyway! Why have your company working towards things when you can take another company's idea and refine it? Much less thought, much easier to do, much more profit!

Battlefield doesn't take too much skill because there's a rarity in &quotro-gamers" in that.
CoD can't take any skill unless you set yourself back to CoD2 / CoD4 where the goodness remained, with actual DEDICATED SERVERS and (mostly) balanced weapons.
Halo can't take any skill either, since it is based only on Xbox and thus actual competition isn't valid.

Works like that, for the most part. But I would not expect a significant increase in reaction time etc from any Xbox player or someone who played BF or CoD on PC that is not something like ProMod.

Black Ops might get a ProMod, but thus far I've not found one.
