What's the scariest video game moment you have ever experienced? Mine was when that mannaquin in Silent Hill randomly exploded or when that zombie jumped out of the closet in the first Resident Evil.
Im playing fallout 3. I walk into a vault and i see a shadowed figure. I go into vats and it says dad. Im like what? Then i follow it it then says its Amata. I turn into a room (the vault is old and run down) and before i now it WHAM i am hit in the head and have a critical. My arms and gun blocking the screen but i make out a blood tattered insane guy with a butch knife that repetedly stabs me. I take his head off with my gauss rifle and then i run like hell out of there!!!! When i left there was a crazy raider on jet so i killed him. -OR- I was again playing Fallout 3. I am walking around killing the froggling things in the Pitt. I shut the generators and the people say run so i start running past frogglings until i get out of the sewers all i see is slaves and slavers getting ripped apart so i run with the slaves who i am helping. I turn to check on a guy with a chainsaw, His head is gone he lays on the floor with a pool of blood around his neck. I keep running but the frogglings catch up to me and i start blasting them with my rifle and shotgun (im low on ammo because this is towards the end of the mission). I finally reach a spot where i have to climb down a series of bridges and stuff and the floor swarmed with frogglings is radiated. Well im at like 25% hp and no more stimpacks or rad away because it was a long mission. I jump down and remember i need to get to the 3rd story so i climb up and im at 10% hp or lower. I reach the door and bam!! im back in the lights and safe from those infected people!!!
Hoped you like it. (i have much more but these above are good)
well nothing now is as scary as it used to be i found the scariest part of a video game is the start of silent hill 1 on ps1 where it gets really dark and you see the body hanging on the wall thn the midget monsters comes out and kills you then harry wakes up
F.E.A.R. had its moments FEAR2 sucked and was a huge letdown. Not only did they skrew up the guns (they took away my railgun *$£&ers!) but they managed to take out almost all the suspense of the original.
I watched my friend play lots of dead space in the dark with surround sound and man... that was freaky.
The Librarians of Metro 2033 were pretty creepy. And the atmosphere of Metro 2033 was really scary too... Crawling around in underground tunnels in a post-apocalyptic world filled with mutants, nazis, communists and "Dark Ones", you were scared even when there were no monsters around. The fact that ammo was pretty scarce added to the "OH CRAP!"-feeling.
Also, Bioshock had some pretty creepy moments. Especially at the beginning, when before you get any weapons or abilities...
I dont scare easily but while L4D still had good servers if I was suddenly jumped by a hunter i'd freak out because i didnt hear the scream that it makes.
For all the scary games I've played and scary movies I've watched, the only thing to scare me was Minecraft. Some of the sounds in that game can be terrifying.
I tend to stay away from zombie related games and stuff so, to date, while playing Halo 2 (8-9yrs) I was fighting the flood and I turned around to see one of those flood guys that explode and release small flood spores. And because of my photographic memory I can remember it perfectly. ~~ This isn't really scary but because of the design of my house it is. While playing Oblivion at 8pm I was just at the start. When you look down that hallway and see the zombie lumbering towards you. When I first just saw the sillhouette of it I thought, "What the hell goblins already?" the realised it was a zombie. I ran back around the corner and paused the game. After recouperating I ran back out down the hallway, eyes closed frantically slashing my iron shortsword in front of me. After hearing the zombie dying I opened my eyeys to find it lying on the ground in front of me. Yeah that sin't scary compared to other things I know, but, my house has a hallway that leads off to the left, just like where the zombie appeared. So yeah. Quite scary.

(Hope It worked) I know exactly what you mean by that.
For me its the bit on resident evil 5 lost in nightmares (the DLC) when you go into the dugeon bit and the creepy piano music comes on and you see the monster thing moving above you. Playing that alone at night on hard mode was pretty terrifying.
PIKMIN 2: The Waterwraith. Yeah yeah, i know, the scariest boss on a rated E game. Give me a break, I was only seven at the time. But that thing is still creepy.
FALLOUT 3: The Dunwich Building. I advise 25wes25 to go there. Especially the part with the flashback...
As to the run-down vault, yeah, those drug-induced hallucinations were terrifying.
I was playing Minecraft the other day, and I was in a cave, very deep, very dark. I was just about to put a torch on the wall when I heard this loud "MOO" from nowhere. It scared the living shit out of me.
