Trick-or-Treat - This is my favorite Halloween-themed horror flick. It has the feel of old Fright Night and I love when different scenarios all meet as one in the end. Definitely, the best!
Let the Right One In - A Swedish horror film from 2008. THIS is how vampire movies should be done. I have yet to see the American version that was just released in the theater. I'm willing to bet it isn't as good as this film.
The Skeptic - I'm slightly embarrassed by this one. It has Tom Arnold in it... ANYWAY, there are many reasons why this movie creeps me out. I don't want to go into much detail about that, but let's just say it gives me the chills every time. Though, I don't know if everyone would enjoy it.
1. Nightmare on Elm Street (The Original): This movie is perhaps my all time favourite horror movie out there. It's purely a classic and I need nothing further to justfy this.
2. The Lost Boys: It's a vampire flick, but it's a vampire flick done right. I dunno how Halloweeny many would consider this, but every Halloween I pull it out to watch.
3. Sleepy Hallow: Yep we got Depp. It brings in a nice classic story and it sticks to the fundamentals of that story for the most part. Enough said.
Hellraiser (the first one) Halloween 2 Nightmare on Elm Street
You really can't go wrong with these guys at all. They, to me, epitomize not only the classic horror genre, but are everything that is great about a good horror flick.
Hey Asherlee, I've seen The Skeptic and it creeps me out too but I had completely forgotten that Tom Arnold was in it, lol.
These are in the order that I saw them and was creeped out by them: #1 Halloween #2 Nightmare on Elm Street #3 Jeepers creepers 2 Which happens to be Jonathan Breck's favorite. My husband, son and I met the actor at our favorite haunt, "Woods of Terror", several years ago. Great guy and really wants to give the fans their moneys worth!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: This movie is great with all of it's suspense and sudden action. Perfect to watch with anyone who is jumpy.
Trick r Treat: One of my favorites, but confused me a little bit. Nonetheless, it's an amazing Halloween film.
Friday the 13th: An original almost everyone should know or have heard about. It's got a decent storyline and has a special kind of suspense that draws you in.
I'm not really much one for horror flicks, but let's see...
1. Frailty. Not exactly a "Halloween" movie, and certainly not a slasher, but for sure scary and dark...the twist ending totally blew my mind! 2. The Mist. The book's classic scare fare, and the movie's pretty scary. The ending made me want to smash my TV, but it was still a great movie. 3. Psycho. You can't talk about slasher movies without mentioning this Hitchcock classic. I mean, it's older than my grandparents, but even so it's terrific.
