Gladiators SUCK, right? And so do sphinx, i hope we all know that.
Glads suck because they are incredibly weak for their price, and they cant counter anything well. And the sphinx? They are really powerful against snipers, Saints, Hovers and generally all units but s-marines, marines (who both outrange sphinx and are quicklier) and romans (who deal bfg damage). But generally, a sphinx (my spreadsheet: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AuVihy7fiRZVdGR5LUJSMFJlTUxmdU03aURKOS1FMmc&hl=de&gid=0). So lets give them both a boost! Here my idea:
Romans are generally seriously powerful units, marines are lets say fine for their price. Now, lets weaken the romans and give the sphinx a boost: Romans suck now against Sphinxes, so Sphinxes can kill romans now easily. Sphinxes are rather late game units, and when the romans would also suck now against them, they would be pretty overpowered (only decent encounter: marines). I think the gladiator would have no problem if we raise his damage to sphinxes? =P
My target is to make Sphinxes also powerful against Romans, and make the gladiators (and also maybe prides) to the with big space best encounter(s) for sphinxes. Then both the gladiators and the sphinxes would be more often used!

That would ruin he balance,Because then sphinx would only can be killed with gladiators, so when you dont have tier-3 structure and sphinx comming=auto lose.Balance is good, and gladiators dont suck!
I was rather asking colony pros than noobs. Sphinx costs 80 (!) influence and is tier 2 of war sanctum. Also, i said that even Prides, who cost only 40 influence and are from tier 1 spec ops, should also get bonus against sphinxes. Got it?
