It may be a little late to create this, but college football season is well under way. I think I'll start by adding the Ap top 25, then some discussion about games perhaps?

Ap top 25 (week 7)

1. Oregon
2. Boise State
3. Oklahoma
4. TCU
5. Auburn
6. LSU
7. Alabama
8. Michigan State
9. Utah
10. Wisconsin
11. Ohio State
12. Stanford
13. Iowa
14. Nebraska
15. Arizona
16. Florida State
17. Oklahoma State
18. Missouri
19. South Carolina
20. West Virginia
21. Arkansas
22. Texas
23. Virginia Tech
24. Mississippi State
25. Miami (Florida)

As for games this week, their were several upsets. The biggest was Wisconsin defeating Ohio State . Also, kentucky defeated South Carolina, and Texas defeated Nebraska. there were also just wild games out there, like Auburn vs. Arkansas, which had the highest number of points scored in a single SEC game. Overall a crazy week in college football. Stay tuned for the first BCS standings of the season.

Boise State really needs a stronger schedule. Most teams in the top 10 lost on the road. I can see being at home is quite a factor for winning.

Well, I am SO surprised to see Mississippi state up there. They beat the Gators Saturday.

I also wasn't expecting us (Texas) to defeat Nebraska. We aren't that strong this year. Too young, I think.

Boise State has such a weak schedule because they are in the mountain west conference. Only Nevada and Air Force were ranked from this conference beside Boise State, but they did not make it farther than 19th before losing again.

I agree MST is a young team. Gators with no Tebow, they lose.

Yeah. But Texas's defense hung in there and stopped Taylor Martinez.

I agree with vinster. Boise State is an incredibly talented football team, but they don't have a very difficult schedule. I could see them winning a National Championship though. Kellen Moore is a great player, probably in the top 5 for college QB's, up there with Denard Robinson (duh) and Terrelle Pryor, and Jake Locker, and then some other, (don't really follow NCAAF enough to know a lot of the QB's).

@Pauler:

Cameron Newton of the Auburn Tigers is pretty good too. A Heisman watch.

And it's not just Kellen Moore. Austin Pettis and Titus Young are good WR's too.

Personally, I'm surprised that kansas State is ranked, considering they had not been ranked in any Ap pole earlier. we'll see how these standings play out throughout the rest of the year.

And yet, they murdered Kansas. Like the other day I think...

It's just that Kansas State has not be ranked all year, and I don't think that anybody has really talked about them either. As for the rest of the teams, I think some, like Boise State and Utah (who have absolutely murdered every team they've taken on so far) are underrated, while others, like LSU are overrated. I think that about LSU because of the two games that they won at the last minute against Tennessee and Florida.

LSU had pretty lucky wins. That penalty vs. Tennessee and Florida, the lucky bounce on the fake field goal run.

Exactly the reason that LSU is overrated, they just barely won the last two major games. The BCS really needs to incorporate margin of victory into their formula.

Some very sad news from this weekend. Rutgers' defensive tackle Eric LeGrand was paralyzed from the neck down after making a tackle in a game against Army. i really hope that he can recover from this.

Boise is so overrated because of all the bandwagon fans. It's pretty sad considering they play no one of note. Like barely beating the only good team they played, and in turn that team isn't very good having gotten beat by FCS James Madison. Sure they could compete with any given team on any given day, but who can't? That's why they play the games. But they would not hold up against an SEC or Big Ten schedule consistently.

Oregon ought to destroy Auburn in January.
