Web browsers and the internet have already become pretty instant.
For the most part you don't have to type in the "http://" and "www." any more in the URL and most text boxes you come across have an auto fill. What happened to the good old days? jk
I love Google instant, personally, because I can often see the answer to what I'm searching for without having to do a search. If I can see that what I'm trying to type isn't getting me a result I want, I haven't wasted time trying to do a million searches on it to find the right keyword.

What? I'm not talking about the drop down box that appears when you type. I'm talking about Google instant, when the whole page displays different results each type you enter a character.
I don't quite understand what your saying? What your trying to type will never get you the right result because you doing a search on something you have typed correctly. If want to do a search on "hippos" and all I type in is "hip" I'm going to see all sorts of results for hips, hip surgery, how to be hip, etc. I have to type in the full word "hippo" to get the result I want. I should just give up at "hip", which it what it sounds like your saying.
Get Mozilla Firefox and use the search bar in the top right corner of your window, next to the address, and you'll never have to go to Google until after the search is made anyways.

I never thought of doing that. I should give it a try. Bing also doesn't have the Google instant search (but secretly it wants to be Google).

Pretty sure you can do that in any browser these days, anyways...

I remember a time when Google toolbar was loaded with spyware. I think it still is considered to have elements similar to spyware. A reason to use Mozilla and not use the toolbar. But, yeah you can get Google search bars into any browser nowadays.
