I wish I could say that I lived in one of those italian families brought together by amazing homecooked food, but I don't. So I explore and indulge in all kinds of different foods from all different ethnicities and places. I would say that eating food is one of my hobbies (I am not fat, I have a very high metabolism, luckily).
Last night my friend and I made a persian dish called "fesenjan". Fesenjan is chicken cooked in pomegranate juice and chicken stock, and tons of ground walnuts. It is then reduced down until it is almost a gravy consistency, then the chicken is shredded and it is served over a saffron rice. It was amazing!
So, what are some of the favorite foods of the AG community? What are some strange foods that you have tried. What are some of the different ethnic foods that you have had? What is your food that you fallback on if you can't think of anything to eat? What do you eat for comfort food?
Here is a place to just talk about food in general.
If anyone here lives in Indiana, definitely go to Yats. It is a cajun/creole restaurant. It has some of the most flavorful, hearty food that I have ever tasted (and the staff is awesome too!)
Well, yea, or you can put apple sauce on them, or with anything you want really? Gravy is good on them to.
That sounds really good! I have never tried putting apple sauce on potato pancakes. What kind of gravy do you use? Also, have you ever tried cutting potato slices and frying them in a pan? They are like really thick cut potato chips.

I'm actually Russian, moved to America and then moved to Germany. I like Tex-Mex, German and Russian food VERY much (in exactly that order)!!!! The Russian "Borsch", the Tex-Mexican tacos and burritos, the German "Schnitzel" and "Currywurst"!!! Delicious... Yum.......
