sorry forgot. i think that you should make the peoples characters able to interact with each other. you should includ north america and other areas in the game.also i think it should not be intirely true like it should include sea monsters and other assorted things.dont make an all sea game either... it should iclude land things like discovering islands and other places.you should be able to take contracts from people like kings and other leaders. oh and make it so that the pirates can be allighned with some nations.
1. Crew too big. a starter should no has 10 crew, maybe 3 or 4 representing for yer buddies. 2. Able to establish property, like a small island or maybe even TAKE over a port city??? 3.Nonlinear or semi-linear O_O 4. ur a n00b D:!

And doubloons. It would actually depend on what country you're talking about; Spain would be pieces of eight, Britain would be shillings, etc.

Unless I'm wrong(which, you know, I'm not =P) the New World(i.e. North America) hadn't been colonized successfully yet during the Golden Age of Pirates.
