i do that but if they get close enough you'll never hit them
You can still hit them You will probably find it easier if you use the bow or the gun, but it is still possible with the rock throwing, you just have to aim above your character.
Yes, K3vlarr is right, I do that quite abit, because the rock throw does the most damage (even though it is quite slow), it will usually knock most flying things out of the sky in a few hits. And @locoace3, it usually gets easier the closer they get? Just chrage up rock attack full, and throw directly at them (if they are in front of you defensive thing).
