In order to preserve his Prestige and maintain the legitimacy of the child, his father had the mother shipped off to the brutal Siberian camps to never be heard of again. Too young to understand or remember any of this,he grew up accepting his father's Mistress as a mother, who more or less wasn't up to it and disliked Timofei.
