This is just my opinion but I think that you should be able to get merits in the community forums. I think that i see more merit worthy comments in the community thing than i do in games. so having merits in the community forums would be nice.
Also there is this very handy little tool its called the search bar. All you have to do is type in what your looking for put it on community and the BLAMO you get results. Works for me every time.

On the opposite end, make sure you read all stickies, it helps decrease twin threads.
I think we should be able to flag "Lock this thread" posts as spam.
