This topic is somewhat of an offshoot of the various religious threads.

So I ask you this:

Is doing something good for want of avoiding punishment, truly a good dead or a selfish deed?

About **** and religion, I remember that theologian argued that ****, though sinful, was much less intolerable than masturbation.

Well that would explain why priests would molest altar boys. Better to sin in that manner than to masturbate.

That's a good point, of course the priests in question have no care for the child's life they just ruined at least. If not scarred for life.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how does this relate to the topic at hand?

The only way I can see that it would be on-topic is if mdv is being sarcastic and means "forget about all these child molesting priests and do the 9-5 jig"... Of course there are better ways of saying this.

Either that or its a meaningless charade meant to disrupt an otherwise meaningful and important discussion.

during the colonisation of the Americas, the **** of indigen women was not held to be an offence under Spanish Law as the persons in question were Pagan and not Christian.

Sadly this doesn't surprise me. I have to pinch myself to be reminded that there are still humans in the world who would gladly go to this extreme and much, much further if they were given the choice. I mean, just look how the pope has managed to keep the police out of the picture when it comes to these cases by making sure its kept within the church "under threat of excommunication", which is a joke in itself.

"under threat of excommunication"

I wonder how many hairs turned gray when the press caught wind of that hypocrisy. That was one of the if not the biggest cluster****(s) in history of Catholicism.

They have the money to ensure there is not a grey hair out of place.
