For me, Horror movies as of late seem to be so cut and dry that you can call what is going to happen from the start. anybody know of any standout horror movies? I mean movies that actually surprise you with a good plot and scary scenes. Not the cheap drown out the music and scare you with loud stings of music.

The Descent was excellent ... I don't really find scary movies scary anymore, but it is a great movie ... also Drag me to Hell was good.

Your right according to this that movies was one of the best scary movies of this decade. But scary movies have been infective in scaring me since I stop being fearful of the dark.

No offence or anything but that movie sounds sick (and not in a good way either).

The Human Centipede and Bad Biology are 2 that I've heard are 'scary as hell' I haven't read anything about the actual plots of them though so you might want to check those out before looking for the movies.
