What fun comes out of cheating in a online video game? how come on the first day a new game comes out,im already looking at hacked leaderboards of the same guy with a ungodly number of kills and a negative amount of deaths. then as time goes on, modded weapons become the norm. i don't really understand the reason to ruin your own gaming experience by having an unfair advantage.
erm... what games are you talking about exactly? Reach and MW2 have long since gotten rid of any problems, and they're the two biggest competitive multiplayer games out there right now.

Neither are competitive. Neither have dedicated servers, and can't host anything to a serious matter. Hell, even StarCraft II in the BETA it was more competitive, the idea of those two being competitive is laughable.
I consider Call of Duty 4 more competitive than Halo and MW2. Dedicated servers matter.
Oh, also, the average 'skill-level' of a MW2 player is very little, so how in the hell is an incredibly "competitive" game putting forth lowly scrubs as 'good'?
Halo and Mw2 are the most competitive games on the market they have the most players the most teams the most ladders and the most prize money, the only good fps on pc is counter strike the rest are a joke.

I sometimes go on MW2 because I feel like winning and I know that might sound like Im full of my self but thats how easy its gotten
COD4 is and might be my favourite COD (though is Black Ops is as good as it looks it might change) COD of all time. Multiplayer on there is so much better. Its more difficult to get top of the leaderboard though I often do.

Same. Actually, the main reason I play it is to go on S&D, use a crappy tactic and enrage bad players (in terms of skill and / or sportsmanship).

Same. Sometimes I find myself lower on the scoreboards, which for me, is actually quite unusual (unless I am playing BFBC2). However if I played it more often (either on ProMod or regular) I'd probably woop @ss again.

I've never, EVER heard of a ladder or prize pot or w/e for MW2 or Halo. For obvious reasons, as well. I am certain that that is a false statement.
Oh, StarCraft II, I've heard of that, I never even had an interest in it until Totalbiscuit made more videos on it. I really want it now, and I will be getting it ASAP. And yes, they have had ladders, they have had teams (I think), but I am certain that they've had competitions with a prize pot. i40 Competition, ladies and gentlemen.
What fun comes out of cheating in a online video game?
Quite simply, there are people for whom that is the fun. Griefers, exploiters and outright hackers all derive some amount of enjoyment from what they do. You like to play the game as it is intended and others enjoy using that against you.
Indeed. But when you actually reveal that it is effecting you, they'll only do it more. Given the retardedness of the person doing it, you should be able to "out-persist" them, so.... don't fall into the trap.
MW2 is the glitchyist game ever created. Every day i get messages for 10th and 99.9 percent of them are fake but for the remaining .1 that got in real ones, they ruin it for the rest of us
i like playing games the old fashioned way.. adn whenever i play online i get dominated... do people take satisfaction from having a faster shooting gun or whatever?
