Recently I have been playing Oblivion, and have found it is very handy to have several items or skills. In this post I will be covering the basics of my favourite Oblivion class, as well as several other classes. This brief guide will also include handy objects or weapons to have, as well as places to visit and how to join certain guilds.

Firstly, my favourite class. It is, because of my preferences in such RPGs, a mix of stealth and escape, as well as a few precautions and spells. I mostly, in Oblivion, deal with either the Destruction, Alteration and Mysticism schools of magic, as these are most suited to my character being stealthy yet fast. The star sign I prefer to be born under is The Stead, mostly because of the speed with which I can outrun enemies and escape. I also put Blade as a major skill, as knife and rapiers (quick, lethal weapons) fall under this category. I also would include Light Armour and Marksman under major skills, as these are assassin/stealth type.

Other such classes may just be your preference out of the preset classes, or a mixture of a few. Here is one that I have used and continue to use even now:
Junglecat, obviously Khajit, uses Mysticism, Alteration, born under the Stead, Blade, Sneak, Unarmed. This class is useful for stealthy kills with whatever is availible, Mysticism for scaring opponents or seeing in dark spaces, and Alteration for increased speed, agility, etc. (like a cat).

Another topic is useful items to own. Obviously it depends on your skills and preference, but here are a few weapons you could do with:
Glass weaponry, such as warhammers and swords, are very effective (far more that metal) against all manner of opponents, but especially Daedra.
Elven/dwarven weapons are light/heavy (respectively) and are very highly damaging. They are often found in caves towards the south, and their containers are usually guarded by skeletons or large numbers of goblins (or the occasional troop of goblin witches).
Daedra infused weapons come about if you infuse either a sigil stone or a Daedra artefact into a weapon. The results are usually quite brilliant (making things such as knife that when swung fires a bolt of lightning, or summons a warrior to aid you) and are relatively easy to find/make (the entire questline revolves around collecting either sigilstones or artefacts).

First, I'd like to say that I found your post pretty useless. The only thing you did really was to tell us what class you like to play as. It's not a "things to do" thread, it's a "how I like to play" thread. Still, it made me feel like playing it again, so it wasn't completely useless.

Now, to make sure my post isn't just spam.

how to join certain guilds.

You completely missed this part.

Most guilds are obvious, just go to where they hang out, and ask how to join (fighter's, mage's, arena), some are slightly more tricky.

Dark Brotherhood: Murder an innocent. Next time you sleep, you will be contacted by a member of the Dark Brotherhood.
Thieves' Guild: First, you'll need to look around a bit, until you get the option to ask about the guild. Then you should try to befriend a beggar, and ask him/her about the thieves' guild. They'll tell you where to go, and when.

I apologise for the sort of failure on my part, but thanks for the sort of twisted help/point out fail.
In future I will be posting (despite the obviousness) ways to get into the guilds, and some of the mission help revolving around them.
Thanks, sort of ,

Love the game myself, Especially the Shivering Isles add on because it adds an entirely new story to the game.

Yes, on Shivering Isles I am halfway through that quest, but so much more to explore. I might make a topic about that, because the individual quest parts are devilishly puzzling. Also things not to do on Shivering Isles, as some things may change how your character may be portrayed in the main game (i.e Wearing the Fox Mask into the Isles, then coming out without it on will make all crimes committed while wearing the mask be dumped onto your main character...)

Well, thats for another time,
