there r many players whom r in college.... some of the best.... Endscape himself is a hs sophmore..... and he has taught players b4 but unlike a "good" mentor i wont teach u everything i know.
First play the campaign and beat it without glitching. This is step number one. It may seem too easy, but you will get a good sense of how to play in an rts game.
Second play some quickplay matches with the cpus. I am post new research information I got 1 month ago. When you are playing in quickplay and campaign type "hi" or "hello who are you". The cpu will then ask you a yes or no question, which you should type "yes" to. The cpu will then give you battle reports from then on. This is helpful if you want to know counters. You can also find out personal stuff about the cpus, but is not needed.
After you get a feel for the game, you should go online. I didn't tell you to start in the multiplayer because 78% of the player base of Colony cheats. The game will be patch soon (hint hint). When you play online, start by playing 2v2s (rank means nothing these days. For example, my stats say I'm rank 2, but I been playing Colony since it came out in the summer of 2009. 2v2s are a good way to get a better understanding of how to play.
I have so much more to say, but I rather teach you that way you will learn more. Post a comment on my profile when you think you are ready.
