I think that artists put so much heart into their work, that their words speak out to others about the problems and the issues in this world. Music makes you think about whats going on and what is true at heart. I don't think most music is easy listen and it all has meaning that you have to find out. I do think music has a large impact on the general public and that effects our view on how we see things.
I quite agree with dust. Music definitly influences your life, for some even greatly. Lyrics make you think, and the music calms you, making you more rational. If you're a fan of a certain kind of music, you'll dress and act more like that. So, yeah, it does.
fiction, the song changed my life... kinda, but yeah i noticed the kind of music you listen to pretty much defines who you are, i cant imagine a world without music. it would be hecka sad.
The Scientist by coldplay. I listened to it, realized how much of a total jerk I was, cried for about twenty minutes and changed forever. I now am a positive person, and make sure I'm friendly and open to everyone.
Yellowcard, they really put a lot of effort on they're songs and most of them can really say a lot. They pretty much changed my whole outlook on the world when I listened to them.
For me, System of a Down. All their songs are purely amazing and have such deep and great meanings. I've started writing music because of them. Within a week I had about 15 songs written
If I need music that will pump me up (not the hippy-dippy let's dance kind of pump up) I listen to Static-X. Helps me get through a work night more efficiently, without wanting to paint the walls with splattered brains, and skull fragments. Maybe, want to do that to co-workers, but at least it's not me. Aha.
