Well I saw one time on a TV show that the sun will go through a "red giant" phase.The scientists said the sun will expand burning up the planets in its path.So I guess I think thats how the world will end.
I think the world will end in billions of years when the sun swallows the Earth as the sun expands into a red giant. We, of course will be long gone and are simply too arrogant to think the "world" indicates our civilization.
I posted on page 2 in a silly way about the end of humanity. To be honest about what I really think will happen, I think of two things: The end of the planet Earth and the end of Humanity.
End of Planet Earth: -I don't believe there is anything that we or any other lifeform could do to actually "destroy" the planet. We can beat it up a bit, but the Earth has seen much worse than we could ever throw at it. I believe it will simply become another casualty when the sun dies in, I believe, 60 billion years or so.
End of Humanity: -I believe that this century will see a taxing of the human race. We have become far too large and have acted very irresponsibly overall with our ecosystem. We may see a mini-extinction, or purging, either from our own doing or from the Earth itself. But, on the bright side, I also believe we will survive and eventually claim other planets, should our technology survive.
If we're able to brave through the harshest times (Read: Once crude oil deposits are almost exhausted)and further provided that we amass enough "energy" to continue to run our nation-states, colonising another planet or even a moon would be feasible.
What a stupid question. I'm no seer, and neither are you, we can't predict stuff. Anyway Mankind will end in a war. That's simple, Earth however ain't gonna be hard to destroy. IT'S A PLANET! A world can take some serious beating. Some guy from Science Channel said that a planet buster could destroy a planet. That would be a simple laser. Almost. It would be a fleet of uber-powerful lasers surounding a planet then firing. The Force would compact the planet which would after that expand. In other words, it would explode.
War - I think this requires no explanation. You agree? Zombies - Bio-science gone awry. Meteor - Nature will protect us from most meteors, although. You're gonna die. Aliens - Impossible. Someone who is smart enough to build a spaceship isn't agresive enough to destroy us. The stupider you are, the more agresive you are. These guys aren't dumb. Sun - Definetly no. We'd be long dead before. Nat. Dis. - Not likely. They kill partions of population, not the entire planet.
im gonna guess a meteor will crash to earth and destroy it down to nothing, most likely to happen before the sun swallows it, since thats yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrsssssssssssssss and years etc away.

War may kill most of humanity, but some will survive. At least there's the possibility.

Zombies are fantasy. Maybe there'll be a disease which will wipe out a big part of humanity, but not transform into zombies.

Nature will do nothing, statistics however ensure that we probably won't be hitten soon. If we get hit by a big one however, you're right, we're gonna die..

True, for most. Mass extinctions do happen, but compared to a lifetime they're rather slow..
personally, i think something is gonna get revealed on 2012 that will change the world as we know it forever.
It will be revealed that nothing will happen, and that will have an impact on life like anything else has. 2012 is just another year.
