Yeah I meant 12%. Drake kinda has an Orochimaru thing going on, as in both arms heavily bandaged. "I told you I was meeting a contact."

Jesus! Four times as expensive as normal? Tell me this is part of the lead-in to a quest, and you're not just messing with us.
Also, make it 6k. I thought that 3.5 would be enough, but since apparently it's not, I'll give you 6.

Also, wouldn't dogs and horses cost LESS since people can't afford to hold onto them and they take up money the longer it stays? If there is a large supply but no demand (buyers), prices logically go down. Prcies only go up when it is the latter, high demand but no supply.

True. I find it wholly unrealistic for EVERYTHING to cost more.

Economic effects of drought: Water & Food prices slowly raise as the drought continues. Spell prices raise, esp. anything concerning water.
Effects of Famine: Material goods prices plummet as people become more concerned on feeding themselves and their family over making any sort of profit; Food prices are ungodly high. Animals such as cows, dogs and horses are slaughtered for meat if they aren't sold.
War: Basic shortage of everything, particularly weaponry. Depending on how the war is going, it could either provide jobs and a boost to the economy or hurt the economy even more.

You said yourself there are 'virtually no buyers' and there seems to be a supply of some things. Prices for everything except food+water would be lower than normal if anything over 4 times as high, if basic supply+Demand holds.

Just look at 1940. World War II ended the Great Depression.

I don't see prices plummeting per se: during a famine, bartering would probably take effect. Instead of trading, say, a sword for some gold, then some gold for some food, you would trade a sword for some food, because gold is useless. You might be able to get excellent deals if you offer food. Same with a drought, but with water instead of food. A drought would also indirectly cause famine, because during a drought agriculture would suffer.

By 'lummet' I meant that people would be more willing to just get an item off their hands for some gold to go buy some food with.
