this is the thread were you can post any top list you want pretty much, that has to do with the popular media (music, movies, shows, etc.). THIS IS MEANT TO BE A DEBATE THREAD SO KEEP IT CLEAN.

TOP DRUMMERS being a drummer this list could go on forever.... but these to me deserve the top spot but maybe later on i will continue this list so i dont short any drummers out. 1.Neil pert 2.Mike Portnoy 3.John Bonham 4.Mike Giles 5.Keith Moon
Debating about music and artists, is like trying to nail a baby to a wall. Stupid.
Music taste is based on opinions and thoughts, not... facts. So what you may consider to be "awesomesauce" or whatever is the term, you kiddies are using these days, may be "weaksauce" to someone else. So telling someone else that their Top List is a joke compared to yours, just makes you come off as an arrogant jerk. Kudos.

actually no, thats like me saying, oh im a better drummer then buddy rich, its my oppinion so its right in my eyes when in reallity its FACT that he is better then me.
ya serj isnt really a "screamer" though hes more of a vocalist vocalist in my eyes.
kyo from dir en gray is deffinatly up there also i have HUGE repect for them.
the rev was good, but he doesnt NEARLY touch the amount of influence and skill that some of those drummers have
TOP SCREAMERS The singer from Bullet For My Valentine, and the singer for Lamb of God (I don't know their names, too lazy to look them up)
TOP BASSISTS 1. Cliff Burton (Metallica) 2. Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) 3. Flea (RHCP) 4. Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) 5. John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
TOP GUITARISTS (kinda out of place) 1. Jimi Hendrix (Who saw that coming?) 2. B.B. King 3. Kirk Hammett 4. Eric Clapton 5. Eddie Van Halen
TOP KEYBOARDISTS Ray Manzarek (The Doors) and Keith Emerson are the only keyboardists that I can think of right now, and they're both amazing
TOP SINGERS (rock) 1. Bon Scott and Brian Johnson (AC/DC) 2. James Hetfield (Metallica) 3. Anthony Kiedis (RHCP) 4. Freddie Mercury (Queen) 5. Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)
TOP DRUMMERS 1. Neil Peart 2. Chad Smith (RHCP) 3. Lars Ulrich (Metallica) 4. Dave Lombardo (Slayer) 5. Carl Palmer
As you can probably tell, I prefer metal music over anything which is why most of the lists have metal bands in them.
And because I play the trumpet, here's my top 5 for trumpet players ever (if anyone even cares): 1. Dizzy Gillespie 2. Wynton Marsalis 3. Chris Botti 4. Louis Armstrong 5. Miles Davis :P
1. Neige. Holy s**t, his growls are haunting, even if he can't change the pitch as well as say, Akerfeldt can 2. Mikael Akerfeldt, maybe . . . . 3. Schuldiner? Never ben a personal fan, but the guy is good 4. Vladimir Cochet 5. Mister Curse/TS Kettleburner. Dunno who does the growls 6. Hmmm . . . dunno, this is tough . . . the guy from this underground psych-jazz-metal band Exist. 7. Maybe Kelly Shaefer? Tough to decide. 8. Tymon, maybe? This is the last one, these lists are difficult
I am not touching the technical skill with an instrument lists, because those are impossible to rank definitively after a certain point. Technical skill only gets you so far, then it's all musical skill that matters, and that's subjective.
Best vocalists
1. Elizabeth Fraser. She is amazing. 2. Morrissey! Just kidding, funny joke, funny joke. Umm, maybe Robin Pecknold? He has an amazing voice. 3. Tough . . . maybe Victoria Legrand? Best contralto ever. 4. Imma copout and say Tarja here. Kthx. 5. Rooooy Khaaaaaannnnnnn 6. Daniel Hakansson, or if not him whoever does the tenor-y vocals on Butcher's Ballroom 6. (tied) Annlouice Loedglund 8. Jerry Daniels and Ivory "Deek" Watson
Thar we go~ Those were very difficult lists.
Oh, and just for fun . . . .
Top Genre-Bending Bands 1. Oblomov (a weird blend of almost everything that works sometimes and not others) 2. Massive Attack (created trip-hop by throwing soul, hip-hop, reggae, electronica, jazz, downtempo, and IDM into a cauldron and imbibing the results) 3. Cynic (experimental prog-jazz-metal) 4. the Beatles (they practically invented/popularized baroque pop. So yeah, they have to have an honorary spot) 5. Alcest (shoegaze black metal. SO YUMMY)
im not beingg cocky im saying that im fairly well knowledged when it comes to rock. and his keyboardists arent
come on pauler chad smith isnt the second greatest drummer ever there are plenty of better drummers including dave lambardo who you included in your list.
