Today at 4:30 North Korea fired on South Korea with artillery and destroyed a few buildings and killed some people, South Korea has retalitated with fireing back and scrambling f16 jets. There has always been tension between the two countrys and North Korea but do you think that this was intentional? Somthing this small that could be a accident could start a full scale war.
If China or Russia retaliates, well, we stop paying China our debt, hike taxes on imports from them, and bomb them too.

Russia would be a HUGE ally (in more ways than one) in a war against China! Back in Commie days, Soviet communism differed greatly from Chinese communism, NK is Chinese Comm. The hatred only was more deep-seated when Mongolia changed gov. to Soviet communism.
Now back to topic.
Worst case scenario? a couple nukes get fired and the closest target the Chinese have (LA) gets leveled and a bunch of filthy hippies and liberals die.
Best case scenario? China and Manchuria become the 51-55th states, and Korea is united as a democratic state once more.
North Korea is a total hell hole for civilians. I say we combine our forces with S. Korea's and bomb the hell out North Korea.
That's ridiculous. You know North Korea is in the process of getting nuclear capabilities, right? We'd likely set off WW3 if we did that. And in addition, we'd be killing lots of innocent DPRK civilians. I don't like the DPRK either, but there are simply too many risks associated with just bombing them without reasonable provocation.

That's even more ludicrous. Why would we start a war with China or Russia? They're both world superpowers with nuclear capabilities. If we bombed either of them, the world would be no more than a radioactive husk in a short amount of time.
Let's just say Kim Jong il is insane, and leave it at that.

Are you remotely aware on how much Western economy would suffer if you atagonized the Chinese to such an extent they went to war with the Western powers? Are you further aware that China has sided with America in the hopes to STOP North Korean aggression?
I would advise against merely dismissing China. Mao died decades ago; the country has strengthened significantly since then.. What makes you think setting off a third world war is a great idea?

There is only one form of communism, and no country has ever been truly communist. The reason it can never be is because human nature could never achieve the ideals of communism. Greed, is the predominant reason. All of those "communist" countries have leaders with an obscene wage.
Actually china and the soviet union did butt heads over who had the correct interpretation of communism. Communism could work if you only had selfless people in government but alas we only get politicians.
South Korea has let its northern neighbor pretty much pick on it and bully it. I don't think South Korea is gonna take it much longer. It's only a matter of time. We've already sent battleships to South Korea after the attacks.
