Cynicism abounds! Why is everyone in such a bad mood nowadays? This here thread is for you to tell us something good about yourself. It could be an award that you have won, a personal trait that you value, a funny anecdote, you might have lovely knees, so on and so forth. In this thread there is no such thing as an ego. Fear not being viewed as arrogant because that also does not exist. Discussions resulting from these are welcomed. The positive discussion starts here.
I'll kick off with an award I won. When I finished school there was a vote amongst my year level. I was voted the funniest person. Isn't that super?
I love to live! The inexplicable joy and wonder that comes from simple, tiny things most take for granted. I'm at a desk I own, in a bedroom of my own, typing into a computer! I caught up with my homework after being away for two weeks =D
I've really had a wonderful time in the US since I moved here from England in 2005. For all of its problems, its such a wonderful country, with interesting people, beautiful cities and diverse cultures.
The company I work for approved my design for a new store interior layout, which I get to personally supervise in the creation of.
I am a really funny person. Life's great! Yea, that's good about me. You can laugh with me, but I'm also open for serious conversations. Also I'm intelligent and with me someone has always got something to talk with. Oh yea I almost forgot, I'm really proud of my grade in english. I've got the best one in my class
Everyones in a bad mood because everyone watches the news. The news is filled with bad things (i.e. murders, abductions) if the news showed stuff that was a little more cheery then maybe people would be happier.
I blame the media, it focuses so much on ALL of the negatives, barely ever do I look at a newspaper, or watch the news, or even hear about a GOOD event in my day-to-day life. So it's probably because when people hear about all these negative events that it has some impact on their way of thinking so that they are only able to pick out the negative things in their environment, which would of course put them in a bad mood, because they're surrounded by "bad" things.
I think that it is kind of a hypothetical question. As he says next:
