I plan to be getting a career in technology, more directly computer programming/graphics. I would just like to know what is the best technical school to go to? Is a smaller college like New England Tech decent, or is it worth it to spend the money for a college like MIT? Or how about online degrees? Please consider I live in the New England area, and I'm not planning on a large distance, like California or Florida. Any input would be much appreciated, but please explain why the college you chose is better. Thanks a lot!
Hmmm qualifications: GPA: 3.9 SAT: Haven't done yet. Extra Curricular: Concert Band Allstate Band Jazz band Track and Field Cross Country Drama Club
That's about it. My main question is if a school like MIT carries more weight on your resume for a job, or is the same degree from a lesser renowned school like NE Tech just as good?
It depends on what job you want, if you want to work for Google, Microsoft, or any major software/game developer you want to go to the best school you can to get noticed. If your goals a re a little lower then it really shouldn't matter what college you attend.
So far, I'm looking at two colleges: U of I or Carnegi Mellon in Pittsburgh. If I went to U of I, I wouldn't have to pay as much because of in-state discounts or whatever. Carnegi Mellon, however, is only half an hour away from most of my family who I only see a few times a year :P
