Here's a discussion about the terraformation of Mars. Something important to know is that Terra means Earth and Terran means from Earth.

Wikipedia ([url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terraformation]) explains Terraformation:

Terraforming (literally, "Earth-forming&quot of a planet, moon, or other body is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology to be similar to those of Earth to make it habitable by terran organisms. The term is sometimes used more generally as a synonym for planetary engineering, although some consider this more general usage an error. The concept of terraforming developed from both science fiction and actual science. The term was coined by Jack Williamson in a science-fiction story ("Collision Orbit&quot published during 1942 in Astounding Science Fiction,[1] but the concept may pre-date this work.

Now on to the juicy stuff
Here's the Stages of Mars's Terraformation (artists conception)

Venus

And the moon (Luna)

Please Share your scientific, political, and religious ideas of how Martian terraformation would go down.

Also, Some VERY good books were written on the topic:

Hmmm.I've heard about that before. They said the same thing about Venus. They also said due to terraformation it would be inhabitable. But I think it's a bunch of baloney.I do think Mars will terraform but it won't be inhabitable.

I don't feel like concerning myself with terraforming at the moment. I'm pretty sure it will take place long after I die.

It's nice to think about it though. Oh, and be sure to watch out for the size of the images you post.

It could happen. Maybe. But your post is about the size of three normal forum pages.

We can speed up the terraforming process, I think...
On Mars all we would need to do is cause global warming. The magnetic field is still a problem though... Perhaps as the atmosphere thickens, the magnetic field will become present, otherwise we'd need to do something with the planet's core.

I don't think changing whole planets to make them more like earth can happen until we actually get to those planets...
