I think they are bad becuase even though you join them to have fun they waste a lot of time and you get addicted. I played World of Warcraft and I will never regret quiting. But what do you think?
I think it depends on the RPG you play. I've enjoyed playing World of Warcraft alot, but then somehow it bored me. Recently I tried a free online RPG, which was awarded as the best free online RPG, and it was bad. Really bad. It al depends on the servers of the game, bad servers = much lag, good servers = less lag, and noone likes lag.
Most online RPGs, that are free to play, have the item shop, and in the item shop, they sell goodies, that give the edge to those who spend money.... kind of making those who don't spend the green, eat their dust. Most online RPGs, favor those who will spend money in the cash shops. That's why I don't play them anymore. I'm not going to play a game that caters to people who spend monies on a F2P...lol.
It all depends. The Online RPG brings something to the table that has just started getting big in video games, social networking. I know I for one played an RPG for awhile to keep in touch with a few friends and a family member. The biggest problem with online RPGs is they are such a time sink and for peoplel with addictive personalities it can become a problem. They are neither good or bad, it just depends on if you can handle it in small doses.
they're ok for the first few days then you figure out it's mostly click click click and nothing more
and the real big problems is the stupid games like dark orbit when if you don't pay, you get r**ed at the beginning zone by some other player, who has a huge ship because he stole his moms credit card and spent all the money on it.
well some are good and some are bad i tried a few a very long time ago (cant recall the names) some of them were actually fun but 2 er 3 of em was just awful
