I saw that there isn't a thread about it. Anyway, I think that Israel won most than anyone else because that it shows that Isael isn't the one pressurising the US into attacking Iran.

The head of Wikileaks is a rapist and a pedophile.

So is the pope, how does that effect the organization itself?

The Vatican is worse in that perspective do to it actually protecting pedophiles and hiding information. If you are going to hate wikileaks, try doing it for a decent reason...

There is none, he mentioned a pedophile and a rapist which then goes to the Catholic Church of course...

I'm sure you know that I would be absolutely fascinated to know how exactly you connect the pope with ****.

Are you kidding? The Vatican is a famous pedophile cover up ring. And the pope leads that...

Are you referring to the pope as a position or to the pope as the specific man in charge now?

Well both, the current one has hidden many, but the Catholic church has a history of pedophile priest going back thousands of years.

Kudos for off-topicness

When it comes to foreign affairs, should the people also have a say? Are there any exceptions? If so, should any choices made by the government at least be made transparent?

Honestly unless they are knowledgeable in dealing with foreign nations no. The choices that are made should be revealed unless in doing so it brings harm to the country.

I'd be interested as to the reason you think the pope's been covering up rapes. His own? Or other priest's?

1) As any good head of an organization or government knows the actions of those under them, but still holding positions of power, will reflect on them. It doesn't matter who commited the crimes but which organization, why, and how it was dealt with.

2) Go make a new thread if you want to discuss the corrup-, er, church.

No point correcting yourself it's a fact the that the church is corrupt. Just follow it though history.

Personally I just want him to release everything he has. If we are on this road of absolute transparency we might and well follow it thought to it's logical conclusion and expose everything that the people should know about how the country works.

Also the charges are most likely fake. Hackers getting laid? Common we know that never happens :P. If the US government could they would just constantly sue him for no reason till he ran out of money. Same thing the some Agricultural mega-companies do in the US. We don't live in Thomas Mores Utopia so we might as well do your best to pursue moral virtues above secular state.

I'm fairly sure the cables and war reports are the majority of what he does have. They're planning on releasing all of them I believe.

He might be screwed because he was accused in Sweden, the **** laws there are extremely sensitive.

No, he said he has more. His lawyer said what he does have is basically thermonuclear and he proclaimed he would release it if he was arrested. But I haven't been following it since so I don't know more.

Well pirate bay is thriving in Sweden but it is true Sweden the US's Bizznap. When US wants something done then Sweden will comply even if it's not legal there. See pirate bay raid for more info. Also the same people that he supposed thumped, have in the past accused falsely other people of thumping them without permission.

I think they are crazy, because when they released the USA's list of potential terrorist attack sites, Al-Qaeda said "Oh boy! Look! A list of potential places to make go boom!! YAY!!!"

That is putting a lot of people and places in danger, personally this Julian Assange guy should be either locked up for life or assasinated. That is just my opinion.

I think you dont understand the situation and I doubt terrorists need to be told where USA thinks they will bomb.
