Hi,

Some of you may remember the Art Skills Competition(ASC) that died some time ago, and there has been no succesful drawing art competition since it died. It died because there was no judge and other reasons, but I joined in the last 2 rounds of that competition and I have to say that I miss it.

So, I decided to have go at making another arty competition of that kind. And every succesful contest must have a set of rules.

1. You must not use artwork that belongs to any other person other than yourself

2. The artwork must be visual, not literary or audible. It can be a photo manipulation or drawing or other.

3. The deadline is 2 weeks from the setting of a new theme

4. You can submit more than one artwork, but must say which is your final

5. You must follow the theme

6. Anyone who fails to follow the first rule will be first warned, if repeated, then suspended for a round and then 2, and then banned until further notice.

7. The will be up to 5 awards each round which may vary, except for the 1st place award and Scenery award(background).

How far have you got into the Naruto series? because I know why his eye is scratched :P

ok, first, sorry I'm late on the judging, I was busy yesterday.

The Awards:

Weapon Award

I chose this picture because it shows the katana fully, and it has a lot of detail. Really I think the sword is the main focus of that picture, so Bronze gets the Weapon Award.

Stealth Award

This one was a tough choice between Zophia, KingLemon and Cenere. I chose this one as it clearly portrayed stealth by showing just a sword and hands, right behind an unsuspecting person. So, well done to Cenere!

Scenery Award

This one is obviuosly the best scenery. The choice of it was ideal and the fading out made it even better. But small eyes of others was the thing that gave Zophia a fantastic win of the Scenery Award.

Artistic Award

This one won the Artistic award because of the detail and the great shading, and the lines(not sketchy/ugly). So I think DTMidian gets the Artistic Award.

Now the final Award:

1st Place Award

This was harder than I thought, choosing between 4 users. But in the end an artist who we already know emerged victorious: Zophia! Like I said this is a great piece, and every speck of white on the dark background adds to it.

If youre annoyed that you go 6th listen to this:

If I could I would put everyone from rank 11+ in the top three, and I'd give rank 12 an award, but The thing is I can't. But remember: THose who won the scenery, artistic and 1st place awards, can't win them in the next round. SO you have a higher chance!

OH btw, the awards are:

Coffee Time Award
Humor Award
and artistic, 1st and scenery.

If youre annoyed that you go 6th listen to this:

Well, I'm disappointed sure, but I thought you were going to comment on all the entries even if they didn't rank top 3. (It would take a lot of time though, and judging/maintain the thread is voluntary, so just having the thread and judging it is nice. It's probably not realistic to spend that much time on judging each piece as well when there is more important things to do in real life.)

Yeah I realised that pretty quickly, but I think this time what I'll do is jsut outline a few iniques(even if the don't get anything.

But if you tried, you'd see how hard it is to rank them if there all so awesome!

They were all pretty sweet this round, but still don't understand how Strop, Cenere, and Zophia make art that cool looking that quickly. One of them said what program they use, but I forgot (although I've seen them do some really sweet stuff in MS paint too).

use photoshop! it's awesome but costs a lot... or you can get it illegally. oh and it's eaier to do any kind of digital drawing if you have a graphics tablet.

3rd place and the artistic award on my first art contest here, I'll gladly take it. I like the new theme and am surely going to attempt something awesome with it in my spare time. Well done to my competitors and big thanks to manny for not ditching this thread and following through. Looking forward to all the next submissions.

I 'avta say I am a little sad I didn't get the reward for the real stealth in the image. Like, the fact that the unsuspecting person is made of straw, and the real other ninja is hidden in the scenery, going LOOOOL... *sigh*
