Huswifery is a poem written by a puritan, whose name contains a 'Taylor', but that's all I recall. It's about extended metaphors being made between a housewife's work and God. Our class had to make a poem that contained extended metaphors (also pertaining to God), and this is what I came up with.

Make me Lord like a sandwich filling
Lettuce like your joy thrilling
Salami soft and crisp like your love
Bread like manna from above
Cheese as nice as your omnipotence
Housewives make sandwiches its common sense.

I actually really like that. In like a really goofy System of a Down type way. I was not a fan of Huswifery, but this poem gave me a new appreciation for it.
