I've heard they are gonna come out with a new album and possibly a new live album? Any word on release dates, if they are gonna go back to their older sound like Dookie and Insomniac?
no idea, but no they are not going back to their older sound. The American Idoit ablum and the 21st Century Breakdown ablums are concted. They are making a third part and then they are most likely done. It is unknown for sure if they are actually doing another live ablum but they have been thinking about. Help any?
They need to go back to the old times of Dookie and Nimrods. I like their new stuff but their older stuff was amazing. I'll probably buy the album if it comes out.
I agree i wish they went back to the old ways instead of this political views there been expressing of late but meh i might buy it
I didn't notice much of a political view being expressed in their latest few songs. The lyrics seemed to be generic enough to fit any side of an argument.
i hope its not as atrocious as the horror that was 21st century breakdown. i hope it atleast comes close to the ggenious that was american idiot or dookie
I agree that they need to return to their more original sound. I really enjoyed 1,039 Smoothed out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk, and Dookie. It seems that after Dookie, and their subsequent rise to superstardom they took a departure from the true California Punk scene and took on a more commercial and popularized sound.
I think that they're still as good as they were originally. I wouldn't mind if they went back to their old sound, BUT I still enjoy their current music as well. As long as they don't make another album like Shenanigans, I will be fine with their current and original sound.

That's what makes Green Day, Green Day. They point out things that others don't see and put heart into their songs. It's more than just easy listening with their more "opish" music. They have evolved from more pointless songs to more songs that make a difference.

I agree with you completely. But still, Dookie and Nimrod basically changed my life about 5 years ago. I used to not listen to music that much but those two albums opened a huge door for me.
possibly a new live album?
A new live album? Nice. I enjoyed Bullet in a Bible. I actually went to see them in concert while they were on tour in the U.S. in Hartford, CT.

I feel that people who totally hate the new green day albums (21CBD & AI) hate that all the new fans that don't know what Dookie and Kerplunk and think they are just funny words. I saw them in concert in Camden, NJ and was shocked at the amount of kids that were less than ten that knew all the words to East Jesus Nowhere and 21st Century Breakdown. Then when songs like Brain Stew, She, and 2000 Light Years Away the left or went to sleep! I can't lie I had to hit the books on albums like Nimrod, Insomniac, and Kerplunk but after that concert Green Day had to be the best thing that had happened to me!
Also if you google new Green Day album you should come up with interview that talked about them getting out all their old instruments(like Billie's real Blue) and just started playing and that made me think they were going for their older sound. I also want to thank everyone for responding to this post and I am still open for more info on it.
Hey guys I have definitely confirmed their new live album. It is prob gonna be called Awesome as *** abut still would like info on the studio album or anything green day too
