Normally My armatar is the shield on sparkly background. That's what my profile still shows and other threads. Except in this thread:

Where it looks like a white shield on red background. Yesterday it looked like the shield on sparkly background and I haven't changed it. How did this happen?

Don't want to double post, but it is also appearing that way in this thread as well (red background white shield). My profile is still showing the other aramtar (shield sparkling background).

Look i have no clue why but maybe if you set it again then try it will work?

No it looks like Cenere's armatar did the same thing. Hey's a Mod, so maybe the default armatars were changed again.

Ya mine is doing that too..I have no idea what happened

Look i have no clue why but maybe if you set it again then try it will work?

Here's the strange thing. The armatars look the same (default shield sparkling background) in the Art, Music, and Writing section. SO maybe the default hasn't changed or the process of chagning the defaults isn't complete. I wouldn't change my aramatar (at the risk of losing the sparkle background) just yet. I would wait for an official answer.

Yeah. I have put this forward for Cormyn to see, and hopefully answer.
I am a little sad about this, but then again, I would rather have my boring old white one. Perhaps it really is time for us stubborn people to grab something else. ... Well, when we hear what is wrong.

This was a system change by Larry and I sad part of some data synchronization between AG2 and AG3 for which armatars everyone had.

UPDATE: Dec 12 1pm PST:
Initially, new users never *had* to choose an armatar on the system, but we changed that this summer to give people one of eight colored shields as a default. For old users that never picked an armatar, we showed the "starry" armatar.

Also, to stop players from hacking the system by picking an armatar out of their point range, we showed the starry shield if their current armatar choice was outside of their point range.

My correction to this forum post is to update everyone on the following:

Since we've been removing so much spam lately, a LOT of users are ending up with a legally-selected armatar but then the point loss from spam removal means their chosen armatar can no longer be displayed which is why the starry logo still appears on the site.

So ... no permabans have been handed out, nor will be handed out. However, if we find users trying to hack the armatar system for any reason, they'll most definitely be banned.

We will likely NOT make the starry logo a user-selectable armatar.
