My Xbox 360 just died today and i wanna warn all of you guys that have xbox 360s if u have been haveing freezeing problems or ure xbox makeng weird noises and being loud and uhear something roleing around inside,Say goodye to ure xbox.
if three rings are red, you need it checked out by a mech-man (no sexism intended) but if its all four, reconnect the cord that goes into the wall, its partly out
Yeah, I think that by now, every person on the planet who has any interaction with gaming systems has heard about the red ring of death. This leads me to two questions:
1. Why do we need to know this now? and 2. Why make a thread about it on AG? It obviously has no chance for creating conersation and the rules of the tavern say that it has to create conversation.
If you asked why the red ring happens, or how to fix it, then this would be a legit thread. As it is right now, it is not.
I only had two rings which meant my Xbox overheated. Not that hard to fix though. Just don't play it for awhile. My friend had one ring which was harddrive failure but he sent it to Microsoft. I don't know what three rings means though.
Actually this has already been discussed numerous times. I didn't see the last topic on RROD in the Video Games section as being posted in any time recently so I'm going to leave this one open, but I'm moving it to the Video Games section.
That should help for those that dont know what each means. If you dont want to send it in to get it fixed try . they'll give you at home solutions you can try to fix it.

There is some thought that with the new xboxes out that xbox is sending viruses to the original xboxes (as in the ones that came out when the 360 was first released) so that they're "forced" to buy the slims.
I dunno how much of that is true, but I wouldn't be surprised lol
